I last visited this restaurant a couple of years ago and the decor hasn't altered. It is looking a little tired and a freshen up would do the restaurant a lot of favours.

However, you do not just go the a restaurant for the decor, the food has to stand alone. And once again the food was delicious. It was a birthday treat and it didn't disappoint.

For starters we ordered the hummus and moutabal baba which came with steaming pitta breads. Our main course was the chicken brouchettes, lamb tagine and kofta tagine with a side order of Moroccan spiced rice. We could not fault the food, however a word of warning that the tagines are as hot as the centre of the sun!

If you are a little tired of Indian food (whereby your sense are assaulted with chillis etc) the spicing at the Marrakech is just right. I could eat this type of food all day.

Omg, wish I'd found this gem of a restaurant sooner. It caters for all of us. Even my vegetarian son had lots to choose from! The starters were just fabulous and the tagines and couscous were yummi! The staff were just lovely and the bonus was you took your own drinks! Try it!

Love it here at the Marrakech, Excellent food & service every time. No liquor licence so you take your own booze and just pay a small corkage fee. I would recommend the Lamb Kebabs, delicious!

Wow, amazing food and surroundings.

The food is very high quality and generous portions - plus the staff are lovely too, definitely encourage anyone to try it here!

No real greeting on arrival, picked our own table which was nice, no offer of ice or ice buckets for our drinks - it's bring your own, but a little service would've been nice. We ordered fairly quickly and the first course came in a timely manner. My calamari looked like Iceland onion rings but were mainly all batter, certainly any calamari content was invisible, the husband's chicken wings were flavoursome but dry, our dinner companions said their lentil and hummus starters were nice but neither got finished. My Chicken Shawarma platter was average, nice rice but very dry chicken, like the remains on the turkey 3 days after Christmas, the husband left nearly all of his chicken pastilla, citing it as revolting, however the lamb tagine was devoured in no time and most of the prawn tagine too. After this the service was non existant, no offer of dessert, coffee or the bill, the two members of staff sat at a table near the loos and spent nearly an hour staring at their phones! On the plus side the loo was clean.
