Being a practised, well-travelled carnivore means that I usually don't opt for the vegetarian option in a fine Irish country house of the calibre of The Mustard Seed. However something in the description of last night's polenta and parmesan ravioli seduced my tastebuds .....and I have to say, the dish itself even surpassed its description! The fat, flavoursome ravioli floated effortlessly on a bed of wild mushrooms in their murky, earthy broth enhanced with a mixture of herbs plucked straight from the garden - it was pure heaven in its marriage of colours, textures and flavours - a real gourmet treat...and not just for the vegetarians among us!
