We have just stayed at this amazing hilltop Castello in Umbria. We had a 2 bedroom apartment. The Castello is absolutely beautiful. It far exceeded our expectations. Our apartment was full of character and very comfortable. The breakfasts were simply outstanding. The pool and gardens were lovely and we had the pool mostly to ourselves during a midweek stay. The staff were mostly extremely helpful and charming. The atmosphere of the place is very special, we felt it was one of the most extraordinary places we have ever stayed and hope to return one day soon. I would recommend it without hesitation.

It's hard to say enough good things about castello di postignano and the wonderful staff. Both my wife and I are terrible with jet lag so we were looking for a place that was relaxing to spend our first four nights in Italy that had a good restaurant walking distance and comfortable rooms. This place far exceeded our expectations. We were some of the only visitors when we came mid-week so we were able to have the beautiful medieval town to ourselves. From the spacious room to the absolutely stunning pool (have you seen the pictures? it's better in person!) the grounds were amazing. Imagine admiring a beautiful old Italian hilltown without the hordes of tourists and gift shops you get at some of the popular ones nearby but rather doing it in the comfort of a beautiful, large, room (with wifi, i might add!) overlooking the mountains and in the presence of staff who were always around and extremely helpful and engaging. From the moment we checked in the staff took care of everything.

We would wake up in the morning and stroll into the breakfast area where there was a wide array of free breakfast options to choose from along with an "egg of the day" and coffee any way you like it. Staff is there to make recommendations on things to do and places to go during the day. During the day we would venture out and come back to the wine bar at night to sit and enjoy cured meats, cheese and a bottle of wine. A bit later we would walk into the restaurant and enjoy some of the best food we had in Italy. No reservations, all at our own pace. It is quiet and serene at night, a welcome respite from our city life. The staff, the location, the food, the restored village ... all phenomenal and at an amazing price. Do yourself a favor and stay here or at least come and dine here and have a look around, it's truly breathtaking.

We stayed one night at the Castello di Postignano Relais in mid-April. The weather was grey and drizzly but the place more than made up for it - the rooms were spacious and beautiful, the location was serene and relaxing, and the restaurant served delicious meals. Great for a quiet, luxurious weekend getaway from Rome or station yourself there and explore other stunning Umbrian towns. Thoroughly recommended!

I stayed with some friends for five days in April. The restoration of the castello is really quite stunning - sympathetically done, full of character and the place has a magical feel to it. The staff and the food are wonderful. The rooms are very comfortable, spacious and are a continuation of the character found in the castello. very highly recommended for anyone looking to stay away from the boring tourist traps of umbria and experience somewhere with character and charm.
