Sober and refined remains capped with arches offering boat trips and dinners in beautiful privatisé.hotel jetty where everything is absolutely perfect. The setting is wonderful, the very warm welcome ( reception, restaurant , beach etc ) everyone is very caring with a sense of unusual service. It is fabulous. The place is magical. The staff is pleasant and available. Breakfast is divine, the products are fresh and of high quality. We will return with pleasure ...

Room Tip: toutes parfaites, une question de gout :)

I came here expecting a luxury experience....certainly for the cost of the room at 750 Euros per night, I expected an above average experience. When I arrived, the hotel looked like it had not been updated in 50 years. The rooms are Holiday Inn style...not what you would expect for the prices you are paying. The staff seemed like they were not happy to be working there, which is clearly a reflection of the management. When I checked out, the hotel had mistakenly charged me and additional 60 Euros for "extras" such as cigarettes (I do not smoke) and borrowing an iron to press a wrinkle. When I questioned these charges, the front desk manager said he would give me a credit of 20 Euros (not the refund of 60 Euros). I asked to speak to the manager who arrived and told me that obviously I do not travel very much (I travel around the world and write for a travel magazine). To make a long story short, the manager finally agreed to correct their mistake. I was baffled because this conversation should have never happened in the first place and certainly not at a property charging these prices! To add insult to injury, the hotel is far from everything and the hotel does not off any transportation. Not even to the airport which is 45 minutes away. They offered to call a taxi but I almost missed my flight since you have to order the taxi at least an hour beforehand for it to have enough time to get to the hotel.

Cher Monsieur ,

To start with some positive comment : the team at the reception is fantastic - very friendly and very helpful, the cleaning team is also good - the rooms are kept very clean. But ...
- the room(s) are a bit old (need a modern touch) and do not have a view : all you can see are trees ...
- the bar is just an awful place to sit - no wonder nobody uses it
- some of the waiters spend too much time on regular customers : 'repeaters' can choose their table and get too much attention during the meals (conversations of 2-3 minutes between waiters and customers ), other (non-regular) clients are told where to sit and get little or no attention at all.
- same remark for the service at the beach where 'all' seats were 'reserved' although only 10-20 % of the clients were present. Again, best seats, close to the bar, are reserved for regular customers.
The hotel management should urgently plan for some drastic changes to make people feel better : refurbish the rooms and instruct their teams to treat all customers on a equal basis.
Our expectations certainly were not met !

The first room we were given smelled musty. Both rooms we were offered had drab decor with awful color schemes. Breakfast is included, but is cut off at 10:15 sharp, so you end up feeling rushed. There is a 90 minute window for lunch. Beach is nice but felt cramped, even in the off season. Food was very pretentious and generally unapetizing. The receptionist Karine was rude and uptight. The walkway to the beach is poorly paved and cut my toe open. Checkout is oddly at 11 am, so once again you feel rushed. We requested a late checkout of noon, and were not accommodated even though the room was untouched hours later when I went to grab an item we'd forgotten. There were signs throughout the hotel banning cell phones. Wifi was weak and required a password for every device (limit 2). We left feeling robbed of our holiday and money.

With the exception of the receptionist, the staff was very nice and it is not their fault.

Room Tip: Do not stay here

My wife and I stayed at the Grand Hotel de la Cala Rossa for 4 night during our honeymoon. I felt conflicted about the rating to give to this place. I think it is worth the high nightly cost (easily $600) if you understand what this place is about. The hotel offers key features such as access and lounge chairs on a private beach, a spa and a one star Michelin restaurant. And those are what you are paying for. The rooms themselves are quite small and you can hear people walking in the hallways. They are not particularly well appointed although the tub and shower are fantastic.
My suggestion is to go there if you want peace during the busy summer months. We went in late September and the nearby beaches were all empty, beautiful and way better than the small private one at the hotel. The Spa is also something you should consider. For a daily fee you can enjoy the pool and jacuzzi. We did not, instead our hotel was our base to explore Corsica, and in that sense we should have picked a totally different place, a regular high end hotel without a spa or private pool.
My point is: Choose this place for the right reasons, it is not a fancy 5 star hotel, but more like a quiet resort hidden in nature, with quiet surroundings.
Staff was always extremely nice and courteous.
Breakfast was included and was fantastic. Really large selection of very (very) delicious items.
They have a bar / deck by the beach which is a nice place to relax (drinks are expensive though)
Couple good restaurants walking distance by the beach

Room Tip: Take a room facing the beach, if possible on the top floor. You will still view mostly trees but it is still much nicer.
