“Perfect Wedding Base”
Reviewed 26 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

The coach house was the perfect venue to host the wedding party for our friends wedding at Fonmon Castle.

Gileston village is beautiful and picturesque and the accomodation itself is finished beautifully and has loads of character. The owner was extremely accommodating and helpful both before and during our stay, including providing fresh eggs for breakfast in the morning. We would definitely visit again!

“Beautiful Coach House”

The Coach House was wonderful and the pictures really don't do it justice. It was a perfect place to have a family Christmas away from home. So many lovely touches too; tasteful Christmas decorations, a tray of sherry and vintage glasses, fresh flowers, beautiful china, beautiful tablecloths and quality bed linens and towels. The whole place was spotless, beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped, even for preparing Christmas meals.
We would definitely recommend a stay here.

“Magical Private Accomodation Full of Character in Great Location”
Reviewed 29 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We spent 7 nights at the coach house in Gileston, as we wanted to explore Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. 2 adults and 3 children stayed in luxury in the Coach House - which had all facilities we could wish for and Wifi, so we even brought our Fire Stick to watch the odd movie in the evenings. Comfy beds, extra toilet as well as the bathroom which is helpful with 3 children, and just so quite but with so much character. The owner Lorraine was extremely helpful, and so many little touches were included, like a kitchen well stocked with pans and utensils, tea and coffee, and even sherry on arrival. Just sorry it wasn't cold enough to light the open fire (it was August!) The bunk room is off of the main bedroom, so would say it is more suitable for family groups or close friends - as there isn't a lot of privacy - but this was ideal for us as the kids were just next door. Could park the car right outside behind high gates so very secure and oh so quite - apart from the neighbouring cows! Only 25 mins to Cardiff and 10 mins to Llewit Major, 20 mins to Cowbridge and 30 mins to Bridgend. Our kids are Doctor Who mad, so we went to the Doctor Who Experience in Cardiff and explored a lot of the filming locations, including Bad Wolf Bay (Dunraven Bay) only 20 mins away (just check the tides and make sure you go when the tide is out). Ogmore by the Sea, Caerphilly Castle, Castle Coch, Cardiff Castle and Llewit Major beach are all also worth a visit. There is also boutique shopping in Cowbridge and Outlet shopping in Bridgend!
The Highwayman pub near the airport has kid friendly food that was amazing - but make sure you are hungry as the portion sizes are huge. Really nice meal.
Could not recommend this property highly enough. We still felt there was more to explore so hope to come back!

Just a perfect place to stay. This is a small quite and pretty location and the "coach house" is just ideal for visits to South Wales. Good facilities and decor. Within easy reach of the coast-Ogmore/Sotherndown/Porthcawl etc.
I would recommend the coach house to anyone.
