My boyfriend grew up coming to Colintraive but hadn’t been for 10 years since he was a teenager. I had never been and he wanted to bring me to his Grannie’s holiday home to show me all his memories of the Kyles of Bute and holidays in Colintraive. They would always have a meal at the local hotel (partly because it is the only eatery there) but going back didn’t disappoint at all. They have local beers and the menu is full of dishes with local ingredients. Their langoustines are a must as they are fresh caught daily and beautiful. You can sit in the bar or restaurant side - bar has a livelier atmosphere and restaurant a bit quieter. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely continue the tradition of coming here on our trips in the future to Colintraive.

Stayed one night on route to Islay, and loved it all - the owner, the room, the outlook, and the food. Very comfortable room with a great view out to the Kyles of Bute. Glorious scenery in a quiet unspoilt area.

Room tip: They are all good, but go for one with a view out to the water.

From the moment we walked in without a reservation we were met with accommodating, friendly staff. Reasonably priced. Beautifully decorated ensuite room with the most comfortable bed. Great pub with award winning food. Lots of variety. Breakfast was great too. Ended up going back the next night. Patricia and her girls together with Caesar the dog runs a magnificently quirky, high quality hotel. Was sad to leave.

On our daughter's 18th birthday ( and my 63rd!) , we made the short jump from our home in Rothesay to celebrate in Colintraive Hotel. It was a miserable day for May , cold , wet and windy and the Hotel was quiet , but then a group of over 20 freezing cyclists descended on the place unannounced. Despite being "caught on the hop" with only two serving staff , one of whom was the owner , everyone , including us , was well catered for in the same friendly , efficient manner. Food was great too. Well done! And well done Sunderland F. C. for their charity cycle marathon!

Fabulous small hotel, just a stones throw & a ferry crossing from Isle of Bute. Accommodation comfortable. Food excellent, great menu. Portion sizes, just right, leaving enough room for a dessert. Very highly recommended.
