Ate here on a whim whilst on a dog walk. Would happily have eaten outside but landlord invited us in. Lovely roast dinner, shame it wasn’t much busier.

After a wet blustery walk on poppit sands with a damp dog in tow, we were welcomed to the Webley by Simon the proprietor warmly.
We were looking for a crab sandwich but they were out of crab so we studied the menu for an alternative. There were many to choose from but once I had seen the rest of the menu a sandwich lunch was the last thing on my mind.
A special of Salmon fillet with crushed potatoes and minted pea veloute was very tempting but we both decided on the pan fried Welsh lamb rump with ratatouille, and roasted potatoes cooked medium rare.
What a lovely dish, wonderfully tender and cooked perfectly.
To follow my husband had the Welsh cheese board, 3 of the cheeses were from the local cheese producer at Cenarth and the fourth was from north Wales with a homemade chutney to boot.
I devoured the acacia honey panta cotta served with pistachio and peanut praline and blackberries accompanied by a delicious vanilla ice cream.
All the food is fresh cooked.
Chatting to Simon about welsh real ales my husband noticed a pump clip for a Welsh beer that he drank regularly in the 70,s. Simon promptly pulled him a pint having just put on a fresh barre.
Impeccable service, great food. A great way to spend time out of the rain.

Have just been for a meal at this place, Saturday night. Very dingy place, someone had been sick in the only ladies toilet and i felt I couldn't use it. Service was terrible, quite a few staff, but running round like headless chickens. Heard a few people complain, owners? standard response was, they were busy! Didn't know how to make an irish coffee! Had ordered a dessert, Prosecco and Strawberry Panna Cotta, waited ages and left without it being served. Totally unacceptable, doesn't deserve any custom!

Just returned from an excellent meal at the Webley. Food was universally good and welcome lovely and warm. Dog friendly in the bar area too. Well worth a visit - definitely the best meal we have had in the local area.
