What a tremendous time we had this weekend at this resort. The villas are really nice. The food . The view/location is spot on. Special credit to Maldonado who showed us to our villa and made sure that everything was excellent during our stay. No job was too big or small for him! We really appreciated that. Excellent service Sir!

I can't say enough about this resort and about Great Exuma. Far exceeded our expectations and by far the most fabulous place I've ever been. The staff is so welcoming and kind. Everyone we met was just so kind and friendly. We felt like we made lifelong friendships and can't wait to come back!

Our tips:
Splurge for that ocean front room. It's worth ever penny!
Rent a car so you can see everything on the island at your own pace and not pay $$$ for a cab.
Don't expect a fancy car! You too will beat it up traveling back roads to see the world's most amazing beaches!
Do the day tour with the pigs!
Take the ferry to Stocking Island on a Sunday and chow down on that pig roast and feed the manta rays!
Visit the Topic of Cancer Beach.
Visit Coco Plum Beach and walk the full length of it to the south. You will find coral and sand dollars and a beautiful sand bar.
Check out the history of the island- the McCay tombs, the Salt Marker and so much more!
Eat at Catch a Fire at sunset.
Eat the best lobster of your life at Santana's!
Visit the shops in Georgetown and the outdoor market. Go see Geroldine for some one of a kind hand crafted jewelry!
We liked Smitty's market better than the market in Georgetown.
Alcohol is expensive, but the duty free is across the street. ;)
Try a Sands Grapefruit Radler. You will be hooked.
Cook some meals in and enjoy the view and romance off of your balcony.
Lastly, enjoy Palapa. The BBQ night was great and so was the special Valentine's menu.

We will never forget you Great Exuma, or our new friends at Grand Isle - especially Paul and Walleacher. We hope to be back soon!!!

Dear Leanne M,

Exceeding expectation is exactly what we hope for all our guest......so nice to know this happened during you time at Grand Isle. Amazing all the things you managed to see on Great Exuma you truly get the island it seems and now have a home away from home.

Hurry back and stay warm,

Much prettier, fantastic beach and large, spacious, top quality across the board accommodations. Subzero refrigerator, Bosch washer/dryer, jacuzzi tub and large shower-- all in limestone or local coral-stone. Very nicely appointed, very tasteful. Neutrals.
I did not really focus that all rooms are actually apartments with large living rooms and kitchens and very large luxurious bathrooms. They called it "villas" but I have been in villas where you get just a room and bath.

Great for families or if you wish to have some meals "at home".
We did not rent a car, which we should have for at least one day--to explore the island and to go marketing. Eating all three meals at the hotel for a week gets old, but it is a beautiful setting and the staff is extraordinarily helpful and attempts to be accommodating.
Highly recommend for rest and relaxation. Very peaceful, serene, beautiful. Aquamarine color of water is amazing--and soft white fine sand. (better than Fiji's sand!)

Worth the extra money to request Ocean View on the Emerald Bay side.

Dear nyc20cents,

Informative post thank you very much for that! Grand Isle is working on a new website and agree with you the Villa's are really homes and it hard to show case this but we are going to try with more images and of course with persons like yourself posting (:>>>.

Next trip we will help you find some of the islands local restaurants and a few upscale dinning venues hidden on the island. Renting a car for a day in my book is a must to see some of the other beaches and visiting our local straw market.

Good news is there are things you have note done yet..making your next trip to Grand Isle even more exciting.

Stay warm,

Sandra Grisham-Clothier

We really loved the resort. The staff is amazing. We had flawless service. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Gorgeous villa! Our living room is on the second floor facing the marina. the view is great and with high ceilings, the space feels airy and luxurious. Large kitchen. It would be a good idea to pack a good amount of snacks, because there is only one small convenient store (not much food in there ) on the resort, and we were often hungry inbetween meals.

The best part of the resort is their friendly staff, everyone is helpful and polite, and genuinely kind. They never expect a tip, but when i offer one, they are extremely thankful. I have traveled around the world 4 times and have stayed in numerous luxury hotels. Grand Isle is fast becoming one of my favorites.

Dear Hellen S,

What a pleasure to hear that Grand Isle is becoming one of your favorite spots. Next visit have the taxi stop at the store your way to the resort. They have loads of snacks and groceries you can get for a nice breakfast of lunch in your villa.

Hope to see you again soon,

Lovely resort. It is clean and the suites are so welcoming. It is a great place to go for a few days to relax. Overall, it felt clean, up-to-date, and welcoming. We had one of our favourite days ever there whereby we rented a private boat with Ray from Exuma water sports who took us out on a fantastic boat ride around the beautiful islands in Exuma seeing wildlife, snorkelling, spending time a isolated islands, and of course, seeing the lovely pigs! We will never forget it!

Dear tpow2,

Sounds like you made two great decisions! One staying at Grand Isle and two going out on a private tour with Ray/Exuma Water Sports who clearly know how to take care of people.

Grand Isle will be awaiting your return and will keep the villas organized, clean and in top notch shape!

Warm regards,

Sandra Grisham-Clothier
