When we arrived our room wasn't ready as check in is 3 o'clock (as per most hotels). We waited in line to check in and were given bracelets so we could go to the bar and enjoy our day till check in time. I actually prefer this, since majority of our plane stayed here we got to meet everyone on the 1st day. We got our room no problem, it was clean and exactly what was expected. I will say, they only provide one small bottle of water for the room, and don't replenish it again, so bring down a large water bottle with you which you can fill up by the bar, or at the buffet. I love that they do not use disposable plastic cups, and have hard acrylic ones that are larger and reusable. The bartenders were amazing, they remember what you are drinking, and after the first day, I didn’t even have to say anything my drink was prepared when they saw me walking to the bar.

The resort itself is small but it has everything you need; it also has a day care (at extra cost I’m assuming). The entertainment staff really do a great job trying to get everyone to participate, we especially liked Danika. There are hourly activities, I suggest engaging in them you get to meet new people and have a good laugh.

Bring warmer clothes, there was a cool front coming from the States, and it was chilly. I didn’t bring a warmer sweater with me and you can’t buy a sweater on the resort. Bring a warm change of clothes just in case, it is their winter time.

I found all the staff extremely friendly and always willing to assist with anything.

The three A-La-Cart restaurants were great. The Bamboo was the least liked by our group, but I still found it to be good, so book all three. Your morning meeting is at 9:30 the following morning but if you get in early, I suggest you book the restaurant the same day you arrive once you get a room number (that way you can pick and choose your times and days). The buffet was good, there was always something to eat and I loved that there was always fresh veggies and fruit which is not my experience with other all inclusive resorts.

The beach is beautiful white soft sand, it's clean, they rake it every morning. If you want loungers they readily available, if you want a lounger by the pool you should get there early as they fill up.

We did 4 day trips: The caves, the glass bottom boat, the city tour and the bonfire. Hands down my favourite trip was the Glass Bottom Boat, what an experience!!! From seeing tens of sharks feeding frenzy to K-Rod and his awesome antics (he was a great host on the boat) afterwards you should check out his cousin Deli’s place, he’ll take you right to it! I had a total blast at the Bonfire as well. The other two were okay in my opinion but I would not pass up the boat tour.

When it rains be very careful as the outside tiles get VERY slippery. Try to bring a pair of shoes with some grip in case of rain.

All in all we had an excellent time. This resort is technically only a 3.5 star, but comparable, if not better than some 5 star resorts I’ve been to in Cuba and Dominican. I would go back to resort in heartbeat and would recommend this resort to the closest of friends.

Stayed January 28 till February 4, 2017.

Entertainment staff was great and most worked fairly hard all day and late into the night.

Took the kids to the kids club on a rainy day and seemed pretty boring. The girl working it was more interested in her cell phone and didn't even interact with the kids until her boss came in and told her to do face painting in the lobby.

The beach was fantastic and it included plenty of equipment free to use.

Wifi worked throughout the resort and in the room.

The water for the shower surged hot and cold which was quite annoying. Especially when you have a sunburn.

The safe in the room is $3.00 per day or $15.00 for 7 days.

I would go back again for the beach.

Food was good but would be nice if it was hot.

Very nice resort - spread out, not at all crowded-feeling with a fantastic long beach. No hassle getting beach chairs ever.
The buffet food was excellent - tasty & lots of variety. The two a la carte restaurants we went to were a little disappointing - the steaks (Viva) and salmon (Bamboo) were overdone and the food not noticeably better than at the buffet. But there was no extra charge, so...
Range of guests -from older couples to families with small children.
The weather was around 25 (77) with only a few partly cloudy days. It was quite breezy some days, but still pleasant.
Cayes (C) block of rooms are basic, dated, but the plumbing worked fine. The in-window air conditioner was very loud and sound travelled from the other rooms. We got a great deal for the week, so we were not bothered overmuch by this.
Upgrade to Bimini (B) block Oceanview rooms if the room is important to you - we peeked in and they were more modern and their air conditioners were outside the building, so I assume quieter.
Overall, it was an excellent value for the price.
One complaint was about the (very short) taxi ride from the hotel to Port Lucaya market - the fare is $15 per couple and $3 extra per person (eg. family of 4 would pay $21). Unless you are two couples who aren't "together", then it is $15 each couple. This is ludicrous.

Room Tip: Cayes(C) dated, but good plumbing. In-window air conditioner very loud. Bimini(B) more modern and air conditioners were outside the building

Rooms need to be updated . Showers are cold. Food was average. The beach was absolutely beautiful. Looks like they have recently updated their restaurants. Restaurant staff aren't that friendly. Don't go here if you expect service like coffee and wine with meal, or even waitresses at least the poolside or bars. It is a self get place. Shows were on way too late. Safe in the room didn't work even after we got some from the front desk

Room Tip: Are for ocean view not back alley and preferably an updated room

I would recommend this hotel for families with children and or young adults but not necessarily for mature adults or seniors. The food from the Buffet was fairly decent for an all inclusive with lots of variety to suit most everyone and the Italian/Pizza restaurant by reservation was very good. Vegetarians have a limited fare but enough to keep you filled up. We did not try the Asian restaurant nor the upgraded specialty restaurant. The cocktails from the bar were generous but the beer taps were giving the bartenders fits. The beer either came out as foam or Luke warm and flat. From my experience at other all inclusive hotels, this is not an isolated problem. The hotel has bicycles and a trapeze......yeah seriously. They also focus on poolside games, group exercise and entertainment. Good for some, not so much in my case. Extremely loud music thumps all day long and in to the night. If the constant music is not your thing, the only way to get away from it are long walks down the beach. Even after dinner, dances, games or hotel sponsored beach parties continue until late in to the evening. There is also a semi-outdoor theater which schedules nightly entertainment at 9:30. We caught a couple of the shows and they were very well done. As a side note, for the fly fishermen in the group, there is a beautiful sand flat down the beach about a mile to the left (east) in Banana Bay with enough big Bonefish to make your heart pound.

Room Tip: Most rooms are ocean view but only a few are ocean front. If blaring music is an issue, get as far away from the pool as possible.
