First of all, the resort it self is amazing, location, beach, pools and casino - no doubt about that. That being said there is a lot things that can be approved. The first problem is the restaurants, both quality and quantity. There are to few restaurants and choices of food, especially traveling with kids. During the day the selection is okay, but after 5 am options are very very limited. We are travelling with 2 kids, and there is no where in the entire resort to buy them an ice cream. The hotel is not near any stores or restaurants - a foodcourt would be a very welcome addition to the resort. The rooms are very nice, although some parts already is showing signs of wear and tear. The funiture has scratches, some light bulbs not working and the bedding is worn down. These are things that has to be okay in a 4.5 star hotel. Overall a good experience, but again the lack of food options after dusk is a real issue for families with small kids.

Bahamar is a huge & beautiful hotel. I was vacationing there with my two kids. Our room was big enough & had a nice view but it was a little worn out. As beautiful and grand Bahamar is it has few major flaws. The biggest one being the food. There are very few good places to eat & all of them are hugely overpriced. A plain, not so great dinner & soda for 2 persons would easily cost 100 US dollars. The food problem is even bigger if you are traveling with kids. There are zero food options for kids. Second, problem that we encountered at the Bahamar is with the housekeeping staffs which were unwilling to do their jobs. They were reluctant & every day they would ask us if we really needed/wanted to use their service. This got very annoying. Third, the guest service option at Bahamar is for show only & doesn't really work. Although Bahamar is a beautiful hotel there are many important issues (such as lack of good places to eat) that need to be fixed!!!

Beautiful grounds and ammenites. Recommend eating at non-Hyatt restaurants (Swimming Pig, Fi’lia) as Hyatt charges too much. Taxi from airport should be about $30 for 3 people...driver charged us $50 to the hotel and we learned later he overcharged.

The hotel and accommodations were great as was the golf package and restaurants. Definitely worth a return trip. The restaurants offered good diversity in price and type of foods. Looking forward to seeing the complex when complete.

In short, BahaMar is a "hot mess" and I would advise avoiding this resort and The Bahamas in general due to the fact its one big hustle. BahaMar is a beautiful resort that will pick your pocket while frustrating you from beginning to the end. They overcharge you for everything, the service is awful and the food is subpar at best. While sitting at the pool we were blasted with music from 2 DJ's and hotel music "at the same time". While trying to relax on the beach we were blasted with hip-hop music from the SLS hotel, it was impossible to relax. Trying to get a drink a any bar is difficult and then they charge you high prices. I went to the gift shop to buy "a large water" and they wanted to charge me $17 "for 1 water". Every restaurant was booked and the room service was a total rip-off. The front desk doesnt answer the phone and will basically lie to your face if you go there in person. There are much better places to visit and I have never been to frustrated on a "vacation" in my life.

Room tip: Choose a hotel in Florida and avoid the Bahamas
