Tucked away off Cable Beach is West Winds II. We went with our mom for the week, who has a timeshare there.

It's a real little community and everyone knows everyone else - and have been coming back years. Ideal for families and retired couples.

The accommodation has everything you need, and the ones on the front have a great sea view.

There's a snack bar which offers great value for money and good food.

I spent a week at the WestWinds II timeshare. Overall it was nice and I would return. It is low key, ideal for retired folks and young families. The unit that I stayed in was beachfront ground level - a few yards from the lovely Cable Beach. No issues with beach chairs.

Pros : great beach, lovely employees, good drinks and decent basic food. Adequate kitchen facilities and sitting areas. Comfortable for 3 people.

Cons: floors could be cleaner, kitchen chairs were torn. Bed linens coarse and scratchy and the blinds were useless.

Not sure what happens when BahaMar opens up. The beach is at the far end of Cable beach so not many people from the hotels come down to it.

Room Tip: This is a timeshare - try for a beachfront unit

West Winds II was a great get away place right on the ocean. The accommodations were clean. The kitchen was well stocked with the cooking essentials I needed. The grocery store was within walking distance and it was also on the bus route if you bought too much to carry! The snack bar on site prepared many different items. The coconut ice cream was to die for!

Pros
Nice people, great beach, dac shack across the street. Security is great. Location is great. Air conditioning works great.
Cons
Place is tiny. Very tiny. Needs to be upgraded badly. Tile is old and moldy. Ceiling leaked water all over kitchen floor when it rained. There are numerous leak patches all over the ceilings in all rooms. Pocket doors are hard to open and close and they are loud when you do get them open. Closet doors are even harder to open. All 6 chairs at the dining table have the seat cushions peeling off. They do not provide beach towels. $5 to rent a towel which is cheap but as a beach property that makes no sense to me. Furniture is old. Light comes in each morning as there are blinds, not curtains. Had to wear shoes in the villa at all times as the floors are gross (even after they are cleaned). 4 adults and space was tight. Sheets are probably like 50 thread count. Feels like paper and loud when ever you turn over. No dishwasher. Hardly any counter space in the kitchen. I would not stay here again. Management needs to remodel (rip out all floors, new kitchen, curtains, new bathrooms, new furniture, EVERYTHING). It's a shame as the location is great!

We brought the whole family down to WWII for our Christmas. The condos were great. One was newly renovated and had new appliances and even a dishwasher. Very nice. The other condo had not been renovated yet. But it was still great. These places sleep 6 and have a ful kitchen. They are right on Cable Beach. Two pools and the food and drinks at the Cabana are great. People are so friendly. This is a great family destination!

Room Tip: Book early this is great fun!
