This was our second stay at the fabulous Cottages by the Sea! It is a quaint, well maintained & beautiful property right on the beach (like take 12 steps outside your cottage and you hit the sand!). The beach there is mainly private so never are there crowds, even with the property at full capacity. The rooms are inviting, bright, clean & stocked with everything you would need or want. And if there is something else that you need, the beautiful staff featuring Paul, Lindy, Robert, Carmen & Jennifer will go out of their way to make sure you get it. They have swim toys, kayaks & bikes available as well as a game closet. Coin washer & dryer on site. A beach café is next door and serves great Pina Coladas! This is the kind of place where you will feel right at home and the staff treats you like family! Whether you rent a car and explore the many great places on the island or simply hang out at the awesome beach right outside your door, this will be one of the best places you will ever stay!

This small, locally owned Hotel is perfect for a "Get Away" from the hustle and bustle of life. Many nice features, including Kayaks and Bicycles. And, it's right next door to one of the best Restaurants in Frederickstad, the Beachside Café.

I booked our stay at the Cottages for our 30th anniversary trip. We stayed in the Charthouse which was very roomy and had a private patio and looked right out over the ocean. We had an amazing time and really hated to leave. The owner Paul was helpful and friendly and our housekeeper was excellent and always around to help and answer questions. The large bathroom was great. We spent time traveling the island with a rental car and saw so many great sites and delicious restaurants. On our down times it was great to just walk a few steps and be swimming in the warm water. The nights we were lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves. It was simply the perfect trip.

Room Tip: The Charthouse cottage we stayed in is very spacious and set apart from the other cottages. It has a...

I have to say the the Cottages by the Sea was a delight. The rooms were very clean, the property very well kept and the staff fantastic. When we arrived we were given a room upgrade to the Coconut from the the Chocolate room. It was on the second floor just over the Chocolate which provided us with a full kitchen and a really nice view with our own private deck. Paul was very helpful as was the rest of the staff. The beach here is very nice and not very crowded. The snorkeling is pretty good with some decent rock formations. For the best snorkeling I would suggest a short trip down to the pier. We saw several stingrays included eagle rays and a southern ray as well as a few barracuda and several sea turtles. Lots of other cool fish and squid as well. I would definitely recommend renting a car as you will need to drive anywhere you want to go. Groceries are a few miles away. The rain forest and a trip to Cane Bay is also a must. The coral reef there is awesome and very close to the shore. Saw my first eel there. Just cannot say enough about the beauty all around the bay. The mountains drop right into the ocean. Just one last note, if your nervous about driving on the left side of the road, just remember shouder to the shoulder and it is a breeze. After a day or so it feels very normal.
Happy travelers from Colorado on a December vacation with our grand daughter.

Just stayed there 11/10--11/15, nice beach, great old timey feel cottages, well maintained. Owner and staff could not have been nicer. If you fly in after dark it can be very hard to find, but everything on this island is hard to find after dark.
