Description: Big Al's Island Grill is now open in Salt Mills Plaza. The restaurant made its grand opening in November, and offers a delicious variety of burgers and other entrees. The decor is that of a 50's diner, and will bring you down a trip through memory lane with its checkerboard design and red accents. Though the restaurant is the "new kid on the block," owner Doug Camozzi is not new to the restauranteur business. He is also the owner and manager of The Green Bean Cafe in Turtle Cove. Doug opened Big Al's Island Grill in honor of his father, a seasoned restauranteur himself, running successful businesses in San Francisco. On the Menu Big Al's offers quite a unique selection of burgers including their New Mexican Burger, the Sicilian Burger and the Smashed Onion. Fries are offered in shoestring, krinkle or waffle cut. Burgers are not the only meals you will find at Big Al's. Don't miss out on their wraps and salads, grilled chicken, fish or steak options. Gluten-free and vegetarian choices are available too. If you think you can take on a challenge, try the Slider Challenge at Big Al's. If you can finish the meal within 30 minutes, you get a free t-shirt. Be sure to stop by and visit Big Al's Island Grill if in the Grace Bay area.

After a week of conch and fish dishes we needed some a good burger and Big Als delivered with some great burgers and fries for our family of 5. They also have the COLDEST Turks beer on the island--whats better then a huge burger--your choice of fries---waffle, sweet potato, krinkle and a ice cold beer? Decor is a little weird as there's a bar and a bike shop also--but the food was what we came for and it was great.

Burgers are delicious but I feel that their prices have jumped sky high since last visit...$200 for 4 people having burgers/fries?

We stopped by Big Al's for lunch on 7/13 around noon after a morning riding the horses at Provo Ponies. Restaurant is in the salt mill plaza and had ample parking and free wi-fi. All the burgers on the menu looked good (around $14-16 and included fries), but we all opted for something a bit different as we had grilled burgers at our house on Wed evening. I had the southwest spicy chicken wrap ($16) and kids had the cheese pizza ($12 for 12") and 1/2 order of chicken nachos ($13). Sodas and bottled water were $2/each. The food was really tasty and perfect for lunch. Reasonable price for the island. Server was friendly, but service was slow. Typical for the island. They expect people leave tips so they don't really go exert anything extra. Service charge was not auto added, which I appreciated. Food was around $53 with tax and I left $10 tip. Would definitely recommend for lunch or a casual dinner.

Service is very laid back and slow. Food was very good. However, my daughter and I specifically ordered burgers with avocado because we love avocado. When our burgers were delivered they had no avocado! When we asked where the avocado was...our waiter was like...oh, we don’t have any...we were like, that would have been nice to know when we ordered because we would have ordered something different...they were like...oh sorry...we could take $1.00 off for the avocado. Which was not offered without some prompting... Trying to get Them to refill your water is like pulling teeth. We literally had to take our glasses up to the bar to ask for more water!

So not pleased with the service...

But the food was actually very good. The vegan California burger and the non vegan California burgers were very tasty...but would have been better with avocado :(
