Sit on a picnic table on the beach...have a couple of drinks...watch your lunch being caught(conch)...have a couple more drinks while waiting for that fresh catch to be fried...maybe get your feet wet in the ocean...(don't forget the sunscreen)...enjoy the freshest fried conch possible...watch your conch shells go up for sale to tourists...heaven...

We really liked all of the conch dishes that we tried ... conch fritters, conch chowder, and cracked conch. The rum punches are very good as well. We ended up eating at Da Conch Shack three times on our vacation.

We bought into the hype that we HAD to eat at Da Conch Shack when we were in TCI. We read on TA that Horse-Eyed Jacks, next door, might be a better choice, but they were closed for renovations.

We bought a $30 pitcher of rum punch, which was yummy, but we only got about 4 med-sized drinks out of it. Why is rum so expensive when they make it right there?! Anyway.. My husband ordered the conch combo (fritters and "cracked" conch, which means fried), and I ordered the fish tacos. Both meals came with the ubiquitous rice and "peas" (black beans) and cole slaw. My meal was delicious. My husband was disappointed with his. The fritters were like big hush puppy dough balls - they didn't really have much of a taste; he didn't finish them, and I didn't want them. The cracked conch was good: light, crispy, not greasy.

THe atmosphere was great - right on the water, eating at picnic tables with toes in the sand. You wouldn't be able to eat there in inclement weather, though.

Our total was $70, which was as much as we spent for dinners at nice restaurants on Provo. We didn't have a bad experience, but we probably wouldn't go back.

Our bill was
