We spent 10 nights at Ballyhoo and fell in love with Craigston Point and the house immediately.
Every waking minute spent in the house was either on the patio or on the pool deck gazing out at the azure Caribbean Sea, watching the boats passing by, listening to the birds and lapping up the beauty of the kaleidoscope of colours presented by the shrubs and trees. We were enthralled by the acrobatic displays the resident iguana performed in the trees near the pool and dashed out onto the patio looking for him whenever we got home.
We ventured out every day to either snorkel, scuba, explore the island or just loll in the ocean and were always happy to get home to the sweeping vistas from the patio. Carriacou has so much to offer. We swam and snorkelled regularly in Tom’s Bay, just below the house, ventured out to Sandy Island and Mayouba Island for snorkelling and scuba diving. A day trip to Tobago Keys with Curtis from Off the Hook was one of the highlights of our trip. We also visited Union Island and Mayreau that day: snorkelling alongside 5 leatherback turtles in Tobago Keys was one of the highlights of our holiday.
Doris the housekeeper was a star, and one small glitch we had with water supply was rectified immediately even though it was on a Sunday. It was with heavy hearts we left the beautiful non commercial island of Carriacou; we hope to return one day in the not too distant future……..
