Owner description: A clean and friendly beach where a variety of sea life, including squid and sea urchin, reside.
Reviewed 22 December 2017

It had been two years since we had last been to St. Kitts and the wonderfully quiet and clean Friars Bay and were so looking forward to revisiting. We disembarked from the cruise ship and were met by the usual band of taxi drivers. I couldn’t actually remember the name of the beach but could show a photo and it was immediately identified – but the taxi drivers didn’t seem too keen to want to take us there – they like to get a ‘full load’ and then take you where they want to go!! We’d been hijacked the previous day in Antigua and we weren’t prepared for the same thing to happen again.
‘Does Magic still work here I asked’ – “yes” – can he take us. Magic could and would – result. He would also take another 2 couples to where they wanted to go – none of this ‘you will go where I want lark’. Magic lived up to his name brill guy – as was Friars Bay.
Last visit it was a very quiet beach but with very good facilities. Since then the facilities have increased, but it is still very clean – the beach is a sheltered bay with good swimming, lovely sand, beach service and changing facilities. The restaurant/bar is also great.
Just ask for Magic and you can’t go wrong.

The beach near the Shipwreck Bar was volcanic ash and was black mixed with sand. Very narrow beach, chairs hard to find and rocky water was cloudy . I would walk further down and there appeared to be a much wider beach with a restaurant also.

We enjoyed a day at this beach going to Discovery beach bar.. Morci was a great host, bartender and chef. We enjoyed the beach and 1 member of out small group even took his dog Dynamite for a walk which tired him out and he slept under her chair the rest of the day.. Morci is a 1 man show so remember you are on island time and enjoy...

If your looking for a Clearwater beach than you need to go here. Gorgeous waters, you can see the fish swimming next to you. You can rent daybeds for $10/each, and umbrellas $10/each. You can buy lunch and yummy drinks to keep you cool. There are nice facilities.
We will be definitely going back.

No real beach to speak of- extremely narrow and not soft sand. We ended up leaving to Cockleshell instead. Looked like snorkeling would be decent. Restrooms were little more than outhouses. Not an appealing beach. Best thing here were the wild monkeys - all over the place.
