This is a beautiful place to just enjoy nature or have a picnic. It was also great for learning a little history about St. Kitts. The pictures we got here were breath taking.

It’s a great excursion for 2 types:
1) Exercise, good walking & sight-seeing- for those who have strong thighs, good walking shoes & like stairs
2) ones who like taking pictures of sights (but don’t want to climb heights) and sipping on a soda and eating a sandwich from tables below
If you go up the steep, first walkway, you get to the top and receive a reward- the view! Get your panoramic camera lens ready! The you track up and down through the living quarters and watchtowers/landings. It’s quite a bit of history and breathtaking views!
For those unable to trek up the stairs, don’t worry because the inactive volcano sight is beautiful and there’s still a lot of history to see at the foot of the fortress. Several things are missing from this sight-a more hands on approach for those who can’t go up top the fortress and for those on top, a more helpful pic opportunity for the ringing of the bell.

Brimstone hill and its extensive stone fort are up a single track hairpinned bend strewn road off the main road north of Basseterre. Most ‘Island tours’ cover it and avoid the need to brave taking a hire car up there. There is an entrance fee to get into the complex at the top of the hill. Parking is on a level area of grass with great views, rest rooms, gift shop and snack bar. Mrs P went up the wide cobbled steps to the fort perched atop the hill and the photos look great. I took my walking stick round the lower level and sneaked a quick ice cold Carib...
Definitely worth a visit - preferably on a clear day.

Very interesting and fantastic views to boot. Would recommend good walking shoes/boots as it's quite a steep walk to the top.
