We stayed at Mango Bay from Christmas 2019 thru early January, for 11 nights. The resort had just reopened after being closed for renovations from the last hurricane. It was our first trip to Virgin Gorda. We thoroughly enjoyed our two bedroom villa on the beach. Spacious, clean, modern. We kayaked most days and walked the beach. The staff is wonderful. Caia is a fabulous host and we are still in touch with her.

The island is very hilly and there are not many street lights so most people went out to lunch but ate dinner at their villa. We tried Hog Heaven for wonderful BBQ and gorgeous views, Sugarcane (not too far from Mango Bay), CocoMaya (lovely food and service), the Leverick Bay Restaurant and lunch at Top of the Baths restaurant. The island is so authentic. Warm people, laid back style, beautiful beaches and a lush tropical setting that makes you feel like you are in a Treasure Island novel.

Don't miss The Baths, but do go early or end of day to avoid larger crowds.

We will go back for sure and I'm eager to see the bright coral as it recovers and enjoy the lovely island yet again.

Room tip: We had a 2 BR beachfront suite which was spacious and perfect for 2 teenage boys and their parents.

My family and I spent a week at Mango Bay Resort and had a fabulous time. Mahoe Bay is an absolutely beautiful beach and the water is an ever changing shade of turquoise. The first morning my wife and son went kayaking in the bay and were approached by 3 sea turtles! We had an Ocean View condo with 2 bedrooms (room 7), which were spacious, comfortable, and well maintained. The housekeeper Ketisha did an outstanding job making sure the room was perfectly clean every morning. Paola was a great host and just a moment’s away for any queries we had (she lent us her sugar the first morning for our tea!). Paola also recommended Dive BVI for a snorkeling excursion, and we did a one day trip which included 3 snorkeling stops (the Indians, Angelfish Reef, and Manchioneel Bay) and lunch at Cooper Island. We have snorkeled in many different countries, and this was the best snorkeling we have ever done (we saw rays, barracuda, sea turtles, cowfish, shark sucker, jawfish, rainbow parrot fish, and many more). The apartment comes with a kitchen and barbecue grill which we made good use of throughout our stay. The weather was great the whole week, and the trip could not have been better. Virgin Gorda was beautiful and we look forward to coming back!

We had such a great time at Mango Bay! Caia (owner) and Anita (grounds manager) were the best. We had a studio room, which was perfect for us. It was a second floor unit with a kitchenette, bedroom, and nice sized bathroom with double sink and double shower. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, and the beach is just steps away. We talked about getting a beachfront villa on our next visit. Kayaks and paddleboards are included and free to use. We kayaked over to a the edge of the bay where we had the whole beach to ourselves to explore. We snorkeled and saw sea turtles and beautiful fish (NOTE: the reefs in the BVIs are still recovering from the hurricane, but are coming back and beginning to show more color and life.) Sunsets every night on the beach are a must. The resort has wifi, but it's in and out reception. Maid service was awesome, we had a spotless room every day. Locally made shampoo and soap are provided, as are fresh towels and beach towels every day. We recommend renting a car for the week. We used Speedy's and paid $45/day for a little Suzuki Jimny, which was perfect, and Speedy's is a block from the ferry, so very convenient to drop off when you are ready to leave. The views driving the island are incredible. Sugarcane Restaurant is right up the road from Mango Bay Resort, and has live music on certain nights of the week. This is the place to be if you want a laid back, relaxing vacation! Book it!

Room tip: Oceanfront rooms are on the beach, some rooms have outdoor kitchenettes, A/C in units, cable t.v. in all units

We had the best time at the brand new Mango Bay. The location is just perfect on the beautiful Mahoe Bay right on the beach. The resort just reopened following the Hurricane and the rooms are all renovated and very nice looking. Carola, the resident manager is super helpful and will help you with anything you need. We were a group pf 20 and they have organized a light breakfast for us that was great!

The great reviews are true! Mango Bay is fantastic. Beautiful beach. Sunsets! Excellent snorkeling right out in front of the resort too. Calm water makes for safe swimming and easy paddling when using the resort's kayaks. Clean rooms / condos. The staff is super and very friendly. Perfect place to get away and enjoy some peace and quiet. Best travel tip: if you're taking the ferry back to St. Thomas (STT) after your visit, allow extra time for as the boats are occasionally off schedule 5-15 minutes and currently the customs / immigration office(s) are under renovation leading to slower processing. Enjoy!
