Positives: Location is right on the beach. Beach is not croweded at all. Staff is responsive and helpful to any issues. Beach chairs, floats and kayaks all included. Daily maid service was great. Unit was clean. Beds, furniture were comfortable. Loved the beach furniture and hammocks. Grounds extremely well manicured. Ktichens are well equipped. Car rental set up through resort was extremely helpful and easy.

Negatives: We went through three units before everything (a.c., toilet, hot water) was functional. Mosquitos a huge issue that is not the resort's fault but they have nothing to offer (such as citronella candles) to help you combat them. This makes preparing meals in their outside kitchens not so fun. Some of the screens have holes allowing more into the units. Bring repellent! We also burned mosquito coils at dusk on the patio to ward them off which helped a lot. Air conditioning in bedroom only.

In the end: I probably would not return to this resort again. I like air conditioning and despise mosquitos too much. I also would not pay the extra money for a beach front unit---the other units are only 10-15 yards behind them and I think would have probably made this a better value for what you got.

Room Tip: Don't splurge for a beach front unit, try to get an inside kitchen

It was instant relaxation when we got to Mango Bay! Gino made it so easy for us, setting up the taxi from the ferry dock, the car rental, and wonderful tips for a week on the island! We stayed in a beach villa with sand and water a few steps away. The snorkling (gear provided by Mango Bay!) was excellent and the water is calm since its on Mahoe Bay which sailboats can't come in to. We met colorful fish, saw a few sea turtles, and the pelicans put on a show everyday! The resort also has sea kayaks which are easy to use. As tropical storm Isaac rolled in, we realized we'd have to stay a couple extra days and it was obvious Mango Bay was prepared to keep everyone safe as they had workers taking down and putting away anything the winds would have made hazardous. When you arrive, be sure to have your taxi driver take you to Buck's Market before you head to the resort, that way you can have cold wine/beer and some food to allow you to take your time enjoying the view instead of rushing to get groceries the next day. Yes there were mosquitos, but I have plenty of those on my front porch at home and a little bug spray does the trick! I cannot say enough wonderful things about how easy our stay was at Mango Bay and how much we look forward to taking family and friends there in the future!

Room Tip: It is worth the money to get a beach view. Villa 9 provided the most seclusion with plenty of shade if you'd prefer to read out of the sun.

We have choose mango bay for its position and it really is a great spot. Tiny beach but very private and perfect to relax. Great snorkeling right there.
Very clean.
Gino is a wonnderful manager. Remember to stop by grocery store to get all your needs!
The only disappointment is for Mosquitos!!!! But it' s not their fault!

Simply perfect! As a USVI resident , I am familiar with many resorts and hotels in the area. Mango Bay is lovely, and THE BEST deal for the dollar. Gino the proprietor also is perfection! He arranged for our rental car (also a great rate), and made our arrangements quickly and efficiently on-line. Great snorkel gear and kayaks provided free. All staff friendly, professional, and grounds just lovely! Very safe, and the bay is so calm. Planning to go back ASAP!

What can I say except that it was the perfect place for us. Gino emailed me with every detail on how to get there (ferries, taxis, etc) before our trip..which is priceless. Take a taxi for a couple of days to orientate yourself with the roads..then rent a car. The switchbacks and edges of the roads are a little scary...but the speed limit is only 20mph...just pay attention and you'll be fine. Great reef off the beach. Had to pinch myself when I got there because I couldn't believe how beautiful the island and accomodations where. The Virgin Gorda residents are sooooo sweet and friendly. ALWAYS greeting you with a smile no matter where you are. Can't wait to visit again. The food on the island was very good also. A little pricey, but that's to be expected.
