We were traveling around Tortola with no reservations and plans . The Heritage Inn attracted us with its amazing location but it seemed not fully ready and recovered after the devastation from last years hurricane. As soon as we drove in and asked about a room and dinner, all sorts surprises started - suddenly there was mini apartment ready for us to check in with brand new and fluffy towels, spotless clean bathroom and a comfortable bed with lovely sheets.
The staff was extremely accommodating and happy to provide whatever else was desired.
The recently rebuilt and significantly upgraded restaurant and the bar with breathtaking views were full of guests by 9 pm and the atmosphere of joy and happiness kept attracting more from the surrounding villages down the hill.
The dramatic sunsets and amazing panoramic views are almost guaranteed in BVI , but what makes this place unique is the views WITH the welcoming and caring atmosphere, great drinks and food....
Thank you team and good luck with rebuilding your business. We will be back!

Excellent quality food and service on top of Tortola overlooking Jost Van Dyke, and the North side of Tortola. Get there before sunset

After the exciting drive to the restaurant, we were greeted by Desiree, I think she is owner/manager, then the barman greeted us, followed by our server. Excellent choice of wines, cocktails and food. We had a great meal, and went back the following night so that we could watch the sunset, the view was fantastic!!! The drinks, food and service was excellent again. For the 9 days we were in Tortola, BananaKeet was our favorite restaurant!!

Have eaten at Bananakeet many times and it has always been good. The rack of lamb in particular is excellent but tonight was a big disappointment. Ordered the Thai seafood plate and everything was cold. The seafood is served on a scallop shell - it was cold. There is a cup of rice - that was cold. There is a small serving of mixed veg - that was cold. The flavors were delicious but everything was cold. I mentioned it the the waitress and she smiled and that was it! They had a party of 20 in so maybe that messed up the kitchen but all they have to do
Is put the plate in the microwave for a minute before sending it out. Big disappointment - won’t rush back.

We truly apologize this was your experience. I spoke to the waitress and the chef. This should not have happened. Totally unacceptable. I have addressed this and promise it will not happen on my watch.

Our friends guided us to Bananakeet, one of the few places reopened on the North Shore, and this is sure to be a go-to place once the season gets underway. We were one of only two dinner parties at 7:30 p.m. on a Saturday evening, but that meant that the service was attentive--orders taken promptly, clear explanations in response to questions, meals delivered perfectly prepared. And because we were a part of four, we were given a complimentary bottle of wine--a very nice Malbec.

Our party of four ordered a Caesar salad, the rib eye steak with mushrooms, a seafood pasta (with lots of shrimp and mussels), and a garlic butter shrimp served with rice and mixed vegetables. Everything was prepared to order; the only drawback were the vegetables, which while good enough seemed to have been frozen rather than fresh. We ended our meal with a lovely chocolate mousse.

The site is beautiful--at the top of a ridge overlooking Carrot Bay and Jost Van Dyke island. While we missed the sunset we DID get a very breezy welcome--so breezy that napkins and portions of our menus flew off into the pool. But the winds died down very quickly, and by the time our drinks and food were delivered the air was calm.

I'd certainly recommend this to visitors to the western end of the island. Parking is tight, so be aware. Otherwise, a great place to dine.

Thank you for visiting. At the end of the day, we always want your experience to be a pleasant one. Don't know why your vegetables seemed frozen because all vegetables are fresh. We never use frozen vegetables. We'll bring your concerns to the chef. We try to please all who come to our doors.
