We usually go to Orient Beach, but having been told only one restaurant had reopened there and return taxis could be scarce, on a cruise, we decided to try Grand Case.

Nice beach, calm, soft sand and excellent beach chairs which appeared to be new. Service on the beach was good. There was a fee for chairs, nominal but have forgotten, or they're free with lunch at the restaurant, Rainbow Café, which per my impending review was disappointing.

We went to Grand Case Beach based on past reviews. The storm devastation was everywhere.
Previous reviews tell you to go to Rainbow cafe and sit in the beach chairs, what they don't say is that first you have to walk about 30 feet through debri, and then a gentleman who works out of a container will rent the chair.
Most businesses aren't open, and those that are don't really start opening until after 12:00.
Go to Mullet Bay.

The water is amazing. The sand is soft. Grand Case feels heavenly. The town is still suffering from the hurricanes, but the beach is perfect.

Our cruise ship stopped in St. Maartin/Martin, and we just returned from this beach that is on the French side. It is absolutely beautiful, with lovely clear water and soft white sand. Had a lovely day swimming in the Caribbean waters, lounging on beach chairs with umbrellas, drinking French Martinis at Rainbow Cafe, and watching seagulls diving and fishing within yards of us. If you want to go to Grand Case Beach, I would recommend going to the Rainbow Cafe at this time as the rest of the beach is a bit of a ghost town right now, lined with damaged buildings as a result of Hurricane Irma, but rebuilding is in progress. If I went again I would make arrangements to go snorkeling at Creole Rock -- I could see it from the beach, and understand it is situated in a Marine Preserve and there are a lot of fish to see out there when the visibility is good. Several power boats with tourists pulled in and out of the waters outside the Rainbow Cafe while we were there; they take people for lunch at the Cafe after snorkeling at Creole Rock.

With the azurre bue sea and the white sands of Grande Case St martin Beach this is a place to never forget. You can walk up the market place of Grande case and have fresh fish and lobster for lunch.
