Really good fish Tacos and a great setting overlooking Simpson Bay. Our server was new So couldn't answer our questions and the service was pretty slow. Rum drinks were good and the setting on Simpson bay is terrific. I recommend for lunch when you are not in a hurry.

Food was very good, service was excellent, drinks timely.
Restaurant in no way presents itself as Mexican. Food was very good although a true Mexican food nut would not consider it truly Mexican. Best advice to management is dim the lights and acoustic tile the ceiling as it is too loud even at half capacity.

This is Cuisine, so do not expect your usual quick mexican meal.
Service is Perfecto. Dining is on the spot.. the Drinks are even better and very rare.
Try the Rosita drink... you will tell em keep it coming..
You can request special meals if requested few days in advance. This give the manager enough time to source what is needed.
Ambiance is perfect.

We stayed at the Simpson Bay Resort and this restaurant is right on the property. This is a new restaurant with a beautiful outdoor stone patio overlooking the bay. Dinner is served inside while breakfast and lunch are out on the patio. We went for dinner and sat at the bar first for a margarita. One of the best we ever had because it's made with fresh lime juice, not that sweet mix like you get everywhere else. We had the empanadas for an appy. Dough was light and crispy and stuffed with cheese. Yummy! DH had the Mayan Pork Tomahawk. Which was grilled seasoned pork with a variety of sauces. He loved it! I had the shrimp and lobster enchiladas. Nice thin tortillas and a light chipotle cheese sauce. Loaded with shrimp and Caribbean lobster. Very fresh and authentic. Delicious! We enjoyed it so much we came back a few days later for lunch and more of those margaritas! We had the chicken quesadilla, which was made with grilled chicken and nice and thick served with homemade guacamole and pico de gallo, and the shrimp tacos made with lightly battered shrimp on soft homemade flour tortillas. Everything was delicious and so fresh! Service is a little slow but that is to be expected for fresh authentic food. If we were staying longer, we would go back again!

I never really liked Tex-Mex. It was OK, I suppose, but boring, and not really what people in Mexico actually get when they dine out. That's why I was ecstatic when I read that an AUTHENTIC Mexican restaurant was coming to SXM -- one conceived, developed, opened, and staffed by Mexicans!

This is so different, and so far and away better than Tex-Mex that the difference is spectacular. Chips are great of course, as are the wines, but the appetizers are outstanding. One features shrimp in half a large avocado which quite truthfully is a meal unto itself. SO delicious.

My other favorites are the fish dishes and Chicken Tampico -- it looks amazing and tastes even better.

REAL Mexican, beautiful seaside setting, opened only a few months, great service (Pedro was our waiter), spectacular food. Jose is the manager and he knows what he's doing. GREAT PLACE... just go. An amazing dining experience. There's also great SXM dining info at everythingsxm [ a dotcom].
