A little hard to find, just off the Welfare Road 'strip', Harry's is a somewhat hidden gem.
We rent out our condo during high season but spend most of the summer here and we're always looking for new restaurants and are very careful in our recommendations to our guests but after discovering Harry's in our own backyard, we have absolutely no hesitation in singing their praise!
From the minute you park in front of their pleasant and unassuming restaurant, you are warmly and genuinely greeted by Dennis, a big affable and enthusiastic man and co-owner along with his wife, Bridget who is also friendly, charming and gracious as well as a world class chef.
From the minute you step into the very pleasant, open front restaurant, you feel at home.
Dennis wears many hats; host, sever, sometimes excellent martini maker while Bridget, busy in the kitchen, makes sure that she visits and chats with diners between preparing meals.
We were there 5 times in July and early August; once with our son and his family who were with us or only a week but my son insisted on going back again to have Bridget's fillet that was to die for! We believe that Harry's true claim to fame is there steak dishes - last night my wife and I shared a 26 ounce tomahawk ribeye that the best of New York steakhouses would be proud to serve.
Steaks aren't all; probably the best escargot on the island and shrimp Caesar salad as well. The menus also feature a great burger and ribs.
Harry's has become our new go to place and we can walk there!
