Casa de Amistad was amazing, and I can't wait to return. We loved our room even with the bathroom down the hall (room 5) and couldn't imagine staying in Esperanza. Cooked at the guest house almost every night, made use of the BBQ, pool, and Owen's excellent recommendations.

We didn't meet everyone on Vieques, but we're pretty sure Owen and Dan are two of the nicest. The guesthouse is beautifully done-- very well thought out, with a pretty little courtyard and pool, rooftop deck, shared kitchen. Super laid-back atmosphere, but they are really there for you-- anything you might need. Stay here. You will love it.

We stayed for a week at Casa De Amistad and just returned from our vacation in Culebra and Vieques, which was enjoyed immensely. This guesthouse is located on the North side of the island (not in the 'touristy' south town of Esperanza), which was welcome for us with a jeep rental for the whole stay. We were close to the large supermarket, a few restaurants, and some local shopping all within a few minutes walking. You will, however, require a jeep to visit the nicest beaches on the island in addition to the historical areas (the fort, sugar mill ruins, etc).

We loved the large shared kitchen where we cooked our breakfasts and lunches during our entire stay. Lots of fridge space and the stove, microwave, toaster oven, and fridge all worked great. We also used the shared BBQ twice during our stay and it worked perfect for dinner. There is also a small fridge in the room (room 4) where we kept some drinks, and a small safe in the room is available. They also provide a beach bag with towels, a small dry sack, and basic toiletries... beach towels can be swapped out for $2 and laundry service is provided for $10, which we used once during our stay. Wonderful to come back to our room with folded laundry after a week and a half of carry-on travelling!

The outside area is kept exceptionally clean and organized, but I did feel the room cleanliness wasn't 100% 'meticulous'... we came back twice during our stay to a couple little piles of sand that had been swept but hadn't actually been picked up yet... didn't bother us, but I thought it's worth mentioning. However, bed was made and the housekeeping staff were very friendly.

Internet works great, Dan and Owen are both extremely helpful and are a pleasure to chat with, and I totally recommend coming here even just to check out the Bio Bay on the South Side (let alone all the beaches)! We loved the stay... thanks guys!

As many other reviews already have claimed, it's a great home base for a fun vacation! Owen and Dan were wonderful hosts, ready with great advice or anything we could have needed. We stayed in Room 7 and it exceeded our expectations. Clean and furnished with everything we needed, including a beach bag and beach towels. We worried we might be able to hear other guests in the house, but we never did, despite it being a busy week. Wifi was fast! Street noise was minimal. The pool was lovely and a glorious little break from beach sun. We enjoyed being in town with easy access to groceries and restaurants.

Room Tip: Room 7 was great and felt extra private!

If you're looking for a place to stay on Vieques, look no more! You won't go wrong staying here. Everything is quite what the other reviewers say; no exaggeration at all. Clean, quiet and comfy. Better still, Owen is a marvelous host, quite friendly and helpful.

Beach towels are provided for your use, as well as coolers, beach chairs and reuseable ice. All as part of your reservation. You Don't get that everywhere! If you want to save some money, you can use the common kitchen to prepare your meal, then eat on the patio or inside. Or if you'd rather, you can get some eating recommendations from Owen, which is what I did.

Easy to walk to the grocery stores, cafes and restaurants in Isabel Segundo. You'll want a car or jeep to get to the beaches or to Esperanza, although I guess taxis could be an option.

I had a relaxing five days on Vieques, and I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else while there.
