We visited over the holidays and spent New Years at the resort. I really enjoyed the facilities. The beach was beautiful and well maintained. The buffet restaurant was surprisingly the best bet. The other "speciality" restaurants didn't impress me, but then, why go to Jamaica to eat Japanese food? We were much happier to eat Jamaican food in the buffet restaurant and take advantage of the amazing salad bar. There was always options that our teenagers could enjoy as well. The reservation system for the speciality restaurants is also a bit inconvenient. The nightly shows were very well done, although some of the content was less than family friendly. Every single person who worked there was friendly and helpful. We especially liked bumping into Beverly who was the sweetest most hard working young lady I have ever met, she kept the guest restroom sparkling clean and was always very pleasant to me and my children!!! She should get a promotion or raise!!!! We used the gym everyday and it was great. Room service (used 2 mornings) was very efficient. My only complaint was that some days we would go to the beach and there would be tons of chairs "reserved" with flip flops, towels, magazines etc.... And we would be a family of 5 sharing one or two chairs, and the people reserving weren't even there!!! I feel that this should be monitored some how. One day 17 chairs were "reserved" in a big group together before we got there at 9:30 and when we went to lunch at 1:00 nobody had shown up at them. But then again, this is rude people, not the resort!!!! I would go back again!!

We found out after we were leaving, RPTB is in cue for a remodel. That may help.

Hotel Transfer: Reported to be 1 Hour - Transfer took 4 HOURS. (no worries man)
Check-in: People were friendly, somewhat helpful for certain things. Expect every agent to be on his or her mobile phone while assisting you.
Junior Suite "Oceanview": Our view to the ocean, only if you were lean over the railing without falling off; then you could see the ocean.
Condition: Need help for sure. Walls need paint, cracked molding and tub fixtures, etc.
Access: Expect key problems. We had problems 3 of the 5 nights with access to our room. We waited almost 2 hours the final night. Unacceptable!
WIFI: Hit and miss depending time of day and location.
Food: The choice grew old after 5 days and nights.

Water: The water and area corral was amazing. Spend as much time away from the accommodations and explore area waters.

“No Worries Mon; No Problems!” Maybe the motto, but this place needs some love. We will not be back. The Palladium appears to be spectacular.

Room Tip: If you go, make sure you have Oceanview Room, not a Junior Oceanview!

This was my first international trip and I could not have asked for a nicer resort. The staff and facilities were great. Free wifi. 24 hour room service. 4 restaurants, with great food in all. A fabulous buffet. Sherylda a the front desk was awesome to welcome us and point us in the right direction. Aaron at the buffet was always very welcoming to us there in the morning. Kareen at the bar was so sweet and on top of everything. Paula our housekeeper was awesome and kept our room spotless. Popcorn, Chicken, Tweety, Sweety, Happy Feet and all of the other young activity kids did a fabulous job making sure everyone was happy and engaged. I would go to this resort over and over again. Make the trip. Well worth it.

Room Tip: Definitely get a room with an ocean view. Fabulous!! The other rooms were great as well.

I travelled here in February with my partner and it was the best two weeks ever! The staff are all so friendly and helpful and the hotel is amazing...

There is always so much entertainment going on around the pool, beach and during the evening. We both loved the entertainment team (Sweety, Chicken, Happy Feet and OJ) The shows that they put on during the evening are out of this world :)

All the food is lovely, the buffet always had different food to choose from. I loved the BBQ they did everyday on the beach! We both tried the A La carte Italian restaurant and that was lovely. My partner who is a vegatarian had plenty of choose all the time as well.

Our room was lovely, the bed could of had 4 people in it, it was that big :) The room was always clean and tidy, and the mini bar was stocked up everyday!!

The beach is wounderful, always clean and tidy. Plenty of entertainment and games to do on the beach and around the pool too! Didnt spend much time around the pool, as the beach was too amazing, but we both loved the swim up bar. The bar staff are always coming around to get you drinks and make sure your okay!

Plenty off trips to go on, we went on the boat trip to Ricks Cafe which is amazing, you see beautiful sunsets on the way back. We also went to swim with the dolphins at Dolphin Cove!

We had no complaints and we defo recommend this hotel to everyone!!

We traveled with our 17 year old son and met some friends at the resort. A great time was had by all. Check in was great. They were ready for us when we arrived and our adjoining beachfront rooms were as requested. We were on our way to our room within 10 minutes of arrival. The rooms are exactly as pictured and are kept very clean. Those who complain about the rooms or anything else about this resort are clearly comparing 5 star American standards to 5 star Jamaican standards, and you can't do that! The WIFI worked well throughout the hotel and the beach. The variety of the food at the buffet is huge. If you can't find something to eat, there's something wrong. Elvis at the omelet station in the morning is amazing. He is so fast, he keeps the line from ever getting too long. The only specialty restaurant we went to was the steak house. We had lobster and steak, both were very good. The Jerk hut on the beach is fantastic for lunch. Make sure to try the chicken and sausage there. The servers in the restaurants, buffet and beach bar were all the nicest, most friendly people. In fact, all of the staff we encountered were great. Tipping isn't necessary to get good service but the staff are very appreciative of tips. Remember, they don't make very much money. The beach and water here is beautiful, and we never had a problem finding a chair or felt that we had to get up to play the towel game. It was busy around the pool for the two windy days we had as the pool areas are not very big, but this is Negril. It's a beach destination and I can't imagine why anyone would want to sit at the pool! There are quite a few beach vendors, but they are polite, respectful and are required to stay along the water's edge. They will never come and invade your space like they do in Mexico! The musicians that play on the beach are wonderful people. Consider parting with a dollar or two and letting them play you a song! We had friends at the RIU Club and walked to that resort many times this week. We had lots of fun there too, there was more activity at the pool, but I preferred the Palace. If there are things they could improve it would be the wine quality, but that's typical, and it would be really nice if there was a washroom closer to the beach. We have visited Jamaica 12 times and have stayed in numerous resorts including Sandals, Beaches, Hilton Rose Hall and Royalton White Sands. This was our first visit to a RIU and our expectations were fully met. We had a fantastic vacation and would, and probably will, return again! I love Jamaica!
