The beach and staff are the highlights! Lots of weed openly smoked at dining tables, bar and beach so don't be surprised. So a nude beach about 200 yards away parents.

We had a great time. Close to most of the popular attractions.

Go to the super market and load your fridge.

Transportation costs are expensive Jamacia. $120 each way per car to and from airport. Web site says round trip but it ain't so! $20 plus tip each way to town or close activities!

When leaving Dunns, try to go out through the vehicle entrance downhill from the main gate. If not, you will be forced to go through one the the most annoying group of street sales people on the island!!!

We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel. If you are planning to stay in Ocho Rios, you will love staying in this hotel. The staff members are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is nice and well prepared. There is a clothes washing service if you need it.

Hotel is on one of the most beautiful beaches of Jamaica. It's an older hotel without many amenities such as phone in room , coffeemaker, safe box, shampoo, conditioner or hair blower. But you will get a modern television , air conditioning, a bar fridge and comfortable bed at a very affordable price. The food at the hotel is awesome !

Room tip: If you're a coffee hound like myself bring your own small coffee maker, You'll only get soap, toilet paper and towels so bring your own shampoo and hair dryer or buy locally within waking distance. Get out of your room and walk into the village there is a bank machine at the gas station, you can buy locally grown produce nearby and shop around without pressure of any kind.

We’re so lucky we found this hotel. It is a well kept secret, to get there you have to drive through poor shacks on the side of the dirty White River, go under a stinky highway bridge, get into a lobby that looks like a prison's. But after all of this dreariness, you emerge into your room (see picture) and you immediately understand how lucky you are. The beach is wonderful, clean, and secluded. The location is so good that it is the destination of the day catamaran trips from the all-inclusive resorts (luckily, you cannot hear them from the beach and anyway they won't stay long). The hotel is small and quiet. It is close to Ochi, which has lots of shops (grocery, farmers markets, souvenirs, great restaurants, both local and poshy). A $20 taxi round trip will get you there any time. Facilities might not be so new but they keep everything clean. Maids come in everyday and change towels.

We especially enjoyed the variety of Jamaican breakfast every day during the 6-day stay. We loved lunch and dinner, both Jamaican and Greek. It takes between 10 and 100 minutes to get served: this type of service is perfectly normal in Jamaica, but Carlos will get the staff into action and even bring personally your food to your room if you have been waiting too long. The rest of the staff (reception, security, laundry) is very friendly and helpful. When there’s a problem, they are there and fix it for you in a timely manner.

I am not sure where all the hate for the rooms come from. Although it is obviously not at the level of a five-star resort that costs five times as much, the rooms have a great view, are clean, have everything you need (safe, fridge, kitchen sink, utensils, microwave, balcony), and are perfectly comparable with a 3-star hotel state-side. Naturally, Jamaica is a tropical country and even the best resorts can have problems with insects. We had almost no problem at all by just making sure to keep our food in the fridge and our trash in the balcony. If you carry a laptop (you should not, this is vacation!), just in case you are concerned about thefts, bring a cable chain lock and throw the key in the safe.

Our 6 night stay was a blast and we highly recommended Kaz Kreol for people who are looking for a beautiful quiet beach with no hassles.

Room tip: Third floor has the best view. First floor is right on the beach and there is lot of traffic.

This hotel is very difficult to find. If you drive from Montego bay airport, after you pass city Ocho Rio, pay attention to TEXACO gas station, you will have to turn right at the traffic light, then immediately turn left cross under the bridge (river on your right hand), at the end is the three story lodge. Don't be discouraged by the look. Once you open your balcony door, you will feel you are at paradise. The hotel room is big, bed is very firm and comfortable. You can have Jamaican breakfast and blue mountain coffee everyday. Compare to those luxury resort, this is a great deal while you are in paradise.
