Never been to Saint Francois before in Guadeloupe; always been in Basse Terre and I already enjoyed it tremendously. Saint Francois, in Grand-Terre is a cute little town that has all the ingredients of the Creole Culture, its patisserie, its colours, its cafes, its rum, its local chocolates, its music and typical buildings.
We arrived to the hotel by a huge alley flanked by palm trees and got in front of a huge, majestic red roughcast building. As we entered this building we discovered that this is the reception of the hotel and this building holds also 2 huge meeting rooms. The decoration is definitely in the caribean style with warm colours and use of woods. A lot of fresh tropical flowers just add to the quality of the atmosphere.
Smiling, courteous and friendly front desk staff welcome us and shortly after we went to another building to get into our room.
We had a superior room and we got impressed by the quality of the furnitures and decoration. This is really high class and posh. I recognized that furnitures are from Bali for having been there. The room was huge, about 480 square feet (45m²). There is a fully equipped bathroom including a dishwasher.
The bathroom is spotless but outdated and could stand some renewing. But that didn't matter much as the room overall was a pure delight. The quality of bed is top and believe me I am very picky about mattress but we slept like babies. And our room had a huge balcony over the swimming pool which was great.
The perimeter overflow pool is top. I met other hotel's guests there and we enjoyed so much the swimming pool and around it during the day and during the night as it is lit and there is a nice cafe there.
But the highlight of the stay is their 5 World Spa; that is really super cool! The masseuses are really beautiful and professional. The rooms are spotless, very well perfumed, a cool atmosphere and you feel totally at ease.
I enjoyed also the beaches around the hotel, plage de bois jolan at Saint Anne, la plage des Salines at Saint Francois for sunbath close to the Pointe des Chateaux, La plage de la Caravelle at Saint Anne, coconuts trees, white sand beach and turquoise water.
