This was an impromptu visit for a group of 10 cold Motorcyclists. No prior notice was given but we were made very welcome.

It is an Inn with the hotel attached but we only used the 'pub' side of the building.

Situated in the Town Square there is free parking in the area.

Its small and cosy with a number of separate rooms and seating areas.

We chose the lounge bar where there was a large open fireplace with a welcoming log fire burning. A place of old world character with well worn flagstone flooring and exposed wooden beams.

Food items were ordered at the bar and all freshly prepared and then served to your table.

Not particularly cheap but not overly expensive (about £8 for a toastie and a coffee but some meals were up to £20 or more) but all nicely done.

A warm and welcome stop and the staff were not put off their stride by the sudden arrival of our group. Friendly staff too.

It's well worth a visit.

I love visiting Y Talbot; and have done so for many years now. It's such a lovely place to relax. The food is always excellent and there is always a warm welcome. It's one of my favourite places to eat locally, as well as being somewhere that's great for a drink with family and friends. It's cosy and inviting, especially in the winter months with the roaring open fire in the snug. There is a great landscaped garden which is lovely to enjoy in the milder months. All in all this is a wonderful place to enjoy quality time; be it a romantic afternoon drink by the fire with a warming bowl of cawl and a pint of real ale (always a great selection by the way as well as local ciders) or a big family meal in the very nice restaurant; or a drink with friends; Y Talbot is always a winner.

This was our second visit to the Talbot. We take out dog and both times we have been allocated a lovely suit.

Everyone are so friendly and the meals are first class.

Already looking forward to our next visit

We visited on a busy Friday night and were lucky to have a table for four in the bar bach. Reservations are recommended.
The food was outstanding. The food here in the Talbot is more than a bar meal and the prices reflect this as well in my opinion. But it was worth paying more than usual just to have special food like this. I really enjoyed the Gammon (around £19). My wife had the steak (£23).
Good service. Welsh speaking staff as well. Diolch yn fawr.
