I truly enjoyed this hotel!

Staff: super friendly and welcoming. Always said hello, asked your opinion, helped you when needed i can not complain at all!

Bars: Lobby bar by far my favorite. A special thanks goes to MANUEL and VICTOR!! definitely two of the best bar tenders i have ever been served by! Drinks never weak or too strong, they new every type of drink i wanted, when i said suggest me something they were on it! they truly know there stuff and made my week just that much better so thank you guys! also they bars had a good variety of drinks.

Food: So much better then cubas! every buffet nigh had a different theme and the food was all so good. we had three a la carts, fish, gourmet and Italian. The fish was tasty, but the gourmet blew me away, should have gone there more for sure, the service, rapidity and food quality just so well done. The Italian was good as well, but the wine was never refilled in less i asked.

Pool and beach: beach a bit dirty and the sand has big rocks, however it was still fun. The main pool was always so busy but it was were all the activities were done. the second pool which had the three jacuzzi in it was fun, and refreshing, if not the pool by the villas was always always empty but the pool was deep and refreshing and the two jacuzzi were fun

Room: very clean, beautiful view i was impressed.

Shopping: when u get off the shuttle people will try to make u fallow them, tell them no thank you, go away, or not interested other wise they will take u into shop charge you sooo much more because the person who brought u gets a profit for bringing you, and they are annoying. best shops were local market and stores.

overall, i had a very nice trip i would recommend it to every to go by!

Room Tip: bay view you see a roof however past that the water, mountains tress are gorgeous and you have a lot of privacy on your balcony!!

Firstly anyone that has said anything bad about the hotel must be crazy! Not one fault with the hotel. Stayed in a junior suite room and this was perfect and everything you could ask for... Air con, sea view balcony, free mini bar and replenished every day. Very clean around the whole hotel and everything is just stunning!!! The views and scenerys are just to die for! Also 24 hour room service all free, iron service if needed and free buggys to anywhere on the resort when called for if you don't want to walk.

Every single one of the staff are amazing and so friendly! Always up for a laugh and like me, if you want to learn Spanish or have a laugh, they are willing to help. The service is fantastic and always smiling and saying holaaaa :) the entertainment team are all brilliant but most of all Fernando is friendly, funny, helpfull and treats you as family! Calling us the english family and will do anything to help and make you have fun. Adriana, juan are very good also and there to make you enjoy the holiday even more! The waiters are all fantastic but Milka was very good at her job and making you happy and feel so welcome! Talking to you all the time helping you out and teaching Spanish haha... The security are all brilliant at their jobs also keeping everyone feel safe although while we were there we felt safe the whole time and all the locals were very happy to see you there :) I don't know the name but the security guard outside block 33 is very friendly and always smiling which again is very good and wants conversation.

Overall the best holiday I have ever been on and would have stayed there for another year if i had it my way! Look forward to going back ASAP!

Room Tip: Juniors suites are the way to go.

Just returned from a dream holiday, at this location and was a holiday to remember. Cant think of anything that could be done to improve our stay.
From the time we arrived at the hotel all the staff were fantastic, very welcoming and always there to help out in any way. extremely polite at all times and always keen to help us try and communicate in spanish. The rooms were out of this world having upgraded to the junior suites, this i think was definately the way to go. The food selection and quality at every mealtime, in the buffet, snack bars and a la carte restaurants was outstanding!!!
Got to mention, the superb efforts of all the animation staff, who made a massive effort to include us in all the activities on a daily basis, with a special mention for Fernando "WOW" and Carolin who really took the time to get to know us and teach us some of the language.
All the bar and waiting staff to include Milka and many who's names we cannot remember we would like to extend to massive thank you for making the whole experience perfect in everyway.
After all the warnings in England prior to travelling, with regards to safety issues whilst in the domincan, we found these to be totally unfounded, and was extremely impressed with the friendliness of all the dominican people we met.
The only downside of the holiday was having to return home to sunny England!!!! our two week break seemed to fly past, although we are now looking forward to definately returning next year.
A Massive thank you to everyone for making our trip so memorable.

We just got back on Monday although not a 5 star we loved this place and had a fantastic time. Food was great so was the service and staff. The Air Canada rep Joel went out of his way to ensure you were happy. Minor issues main pool was out of order for 3 days, water went off a couple of times in room but quickly fixed and elevator down to the beach out of order one day which meant you had to wal down hundreds of steps and then back up when you wanted to go back to room.Food was fresh and great variety. Great check in procedure no line up just a great experience and look forward to go back next year.

Room Tip: you want to be on higher floor facing town houses on mountain great view you would think you were in europe.

All-in-all a pretty decent hotel given the price we paid.

We stayed in a Golden club room (locally called a villa). This had great views and was a little away from the main hotel block -thus quieter, which was ok with us, as this is what we wanted, but some may not like being a bit detached from the main activities.

Whilst the room was great, for me the bed was a little hard.

Yes to get there we did have a long (3hr+) coach ride from the airport (Puerto Plata) and yes, there are a lot of steps around the hotel, but we went knowing this in advance and didn’t mind.

The food at buffet restaurant was fair and having the choice of up to four visits to any of their other restaurants (Italian, gourmet and seafood) gave a good selection of eating options.

Service at times though was a little slow, something you just have to expect in this part of the world. There were a few humorous moments in the restaurants when one of the waiters gave a good rendition of "...‘Manuel’ from Barcelona...". Priceless!!

We did not experience the usual fight for a sun bed around the pool and found the smaller pools to be a great places to relax in relative quiet– although, being shallow meant that the water got a little warm on sunny days.

We did venture out of the hotel. I would recommend a ½ day trip to the waterfalls of Cascada El Limon and a catamaran trip around the bay which included lunch at a nice restaurant in Puerto Bahia.

We also clubbed together with other guests and took the short boat trip out to spend a full morning on "Bacardi island', something that I would recommend doing if you want a cost effective trip. The beach there is far nicer, the sea is very clear and there is some good snorkelling to be found close to the shore. We ‘chartered’ our boats through Raymond who can be found under the bridge.

My top tip is to try to learn a few words of Spanish and have a go at conversing with the locals – you and they will love it.

This was our second trip to the Dom. Rep. and we hope to find the time (and money) to return again.

Room Tip: The rooms on the lobby floor are a little noisy due to their close proximity to the bar/patio area. Try for a higher floor where it might be a bit quieter, with the added advantage of a improved balcony view.
