If you are not a beach person, location is the only thing going of it. close to good restaurants and downtown. Very old and run down. No staff to speak of. Beware if you book through their website, as it is NOT the hotel's website, but that of an Agent using the hotel's name. The website has outdated information that is no longer available, such as beach transfers and WIFI in the rooms. Breakfast is limited to only eggs and pancakes or pancakes and eggs...every day.

I stayed at the Plaza on a dive trip without my wife in early December. For my purposes the hotel was fine as in ... I didn't worry about bringing wet dive gear into my room. But, this hotel is very basic and probably not great for couples. The shower was very difficult to adjust, restaurant is not a great option, and there isn't a bar. If you are in Curacao on a budget and don't mind very basic accommodations the Plaza is ok. But I'd look for other options first.

Room Tip: room with a view of pool and ocean

This is in need of a refresh of décor, it's pretty dated. But... location, location, location! It is in a prime location. The hotel was clean, and it was a good price.

If you're visiting the islands with the sole intent of staying in your hotel, this might not be the place for you. However, if like me, you use vacation hotels as a 'crash-pad', then this clean, no-frills, great location, safe hotel might be for you.

Overall my experience at this hotel was meh. The staff was lovely and the rooms were clean and maintained. However, everything about the place is in poor condition and in desperate need of repair. It's too bad because the location is PERFECT and has amazing views of the harbor. It's too bad because the foyer is amazing and hearkens back to a grander time. Now, however, I believe the management has just given up on fixing anything. I really wish I had read the reviews before booking, otherwise I would've stayed at the Renaissance across the harbor which was AMAZING..

While the lobby looks grand with a lovely staircase and marble, fish pond and old fashioned ceiling fans, the rooms were very dated, adequate but dated. We felt did not represent what was on their website. Plus, if your room happens to be on second or third floor overlooking the pool in the long part ( not tower ) starting at 5 am or so, you hear people leaving with their suitcases clanking down the hall as there is no carpet, just tile floors.
