“Beautiful walk on a sunny day”

If the weather permits then this is a beautiful area to walk down, the breeze is welcome as you walk down and admire the view along with all the vintage cars whizzing past you, if the walk is too much simply pull over a cab and get taken the rest of the way to old Havana

We walk along the Malecon one afternoon and saw several locals fishing off of the wall. We also saw several families walking or sitting on the wall too. It's a good place to sit and see some of the local people hanging out and to see many of the old cars riding along the road beside it.

The seawall is a nice place for an evening walk. The pavement is a little uneven in places and has some holes to avoid. It's a very popular hangout. The view is great. We did get asked to "exchange" money by one person - he tried to get us to exchange cuc's for his pesos. We declined twice and kept walking, and he left us alone after a couple of minutes.

Great place to hang and talk to locals while sipping on Havana Club rum. We got a coconut car just for this little short trip to EL Malecon from our Ship's port.

I would recommend walking the malecón at sunset, sometimes musical groups play songs and people dance. It is safe to walk at night or alone and it is a good opportunity to enjoy the different architecture of the island.
