If it was possible to give 6 out of 5 for service, this place would get it. David the owner started with covering everything a Cuba beginner should know, without us even asking for it. David and the young lady at reception (sorry I don't recall her name) were the most accommodating imaginable to our ever changing plans and arranged all the forward transportation and booking for us. When we apologized for all the work we caused her she said "that's ok, it's your holiday". Really above and beyond anything I've seen.
The location is also perfect. I'm not a Havana expert by any means but I'm quite sure staying in Old Havana misses the point while this location in Central Havana is much more 'real' while still being a few minutes walk from both Old Havana and the Malecon.
We stayed at one of the 'other buildings' owned by this casa. The room was good enough, with the only pain spot being lack of closet, so we had no choice but living out of our bags. The building and the area felt safe despite their looks and we left stuff in the room with no worries. Breakfast was fine and as we read in advance a must in Havana where most of what you'll eat during the day is pizza.
Cannot recommend enough. Great stay in a great city.More
