We stayed in Rigo and Raisa's casa our three first nights in Cuba, and it was without a doubt the most enjoyable place we lived during our two weeks in the country. And we stayed at really good houses in the other cities we went to. We were staying there our last two nights in Cuba as well, and couldn't wait to get back.

The casa is perfectly situated between Habana Vieja, the old city, and Vedado, a more modern part. They have two rooms, both very nice and with private bathrooms with hot and cold water. Cleaned every day, good air-condition and a fridge filled with water and beer.

The best part with this casa is, however, Rigo himself. Definitely one of the nicest guys we've ever met. He helps with everything, and is not bothered by it at all! After consulting with him, we changed our travel plans a bit, and did not regret it at all. He called all the casas we were staying with in the other cities to make them pick us up at the bus station, bought bus tickets for us in advance so we were certain to get seats, did our laundry, made breakfast in the middle of the night, arranged taxis whenever and wherever we wanted to go, always giving us good advice on what to do in Havana (and other places). We wish we could speak spanish so we could communicate better with his family as well, but Rigo speaks perfect english.

We could mention a lot of things, such as when he suddenly popped up with free mojitos when we were sitting on his balcony reading, lending us his snorkeling gear when we were going to the beach (as well as giving us a LOT of rum), and in general just being a really nice and funny guy who makes you feel at home. You will never regret staying here.

Room Tip: Both rooms are equally good in quality, but the one that does not face the street is perhaps more qu...

Before our arriving to Cuba, our trip is already arranged by Rigo. He arranged very nice Casa particulares for us in the other cities and offered all transport ways between cities. You can ask to Rigo all questions by e-mail and the latest 1 day later Rigo will answer you. We stayed Rigo's house during 5 days at the end of our Cuba visit. The location of house is very comfortable, very near to Malacon Street and Old Habana. Also, too clean and cool. You have to be sure, Rigo will help you what you want to do. Even, he recommended a clinic for my friend's special illness. To be honest, Cuba kitchen was not warm for us. We bored to eat one of five menus during our Cuba visit. Rigo allowed us to cook our meals in his kitchen. Cuba is the safest country in the world and Rigo's house and his family correct address to stay. I hope to visit Cuba in the next year again and firstly I will contact with Rigo to ask how should I arrange my travel.
thank you so much Rigo, take care of yourself and your country...

We travelled four girls to Cuba and had our first nights at Rigo and Raisa's casa in Havana. We were picked up at the airport and driven to the door by a smiling driver. Rigo welcomed us in fluently english and instantly made us feel taken care of. He supplied us with street and travel advices and helped to arrange for taxis and casas in other towns. Very handy!
The casa was nicely situated between Malacon and the old town. True Havana right outside the door, 7 minutes walk to la Floridita and 3 minutes to Malacon. Only con is that one of the rooms have no window, but just ask for the other if that's problematic.
Every morning we had a nice breakfast and chat with Rigo. A very good place to start exploring Cuba!

We had a wonderful time at this casa particular in Havana! A nice, clean and very charming place located in central Havana with the most amazing hosts, Rigo and his family, I have ever met! Rigo is like the guide book you always wished for; he knows everything and on top of that, he is extremely helpful!

This was the first Casa particular we booked. The very nice host Rico helped us plan our whole trip and gave super nice advise and tips. We can highly recommend this very cool casa. I doubt you will find a better place in the area.
And as a very big plus Rico speaks English. We did unfortunately not speak that much Spanish.
Thanks for a fantastic stay Rico and family :-)
