“A relaxing second stay!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 February 2012

It's the location that's draws us back for a second stay at treasure beach! On the whole it's a great hotel, with many improvements made in the last twelve months by Jason and his staff! The new spa is rather overpriced but this is barbados! The rooms are very good size and kept clean by the excellent cleaning ladies who are very friendly - supplies are a bit haphazard but you only need to ask! Breakfasts are good and enjoyed with johns infectious laugh which was welcomed by most of the guests!! After breakfast it's off to find a sunbed - yes, as last years gripe, it's still not improved, no parasols are allowed in the garden so you hope to find a sunbed with a parasol on the beach, depending on the tide and the mood of the beach attendant you could usually find one after a bit of cajoling!! the only time these were laid out tidily was when the regular beach attendant was on his two days off! The fruit kebabs and ice cold towels were very welcome as was afternoon tea with a selection of teas! on the whole it's a great hotel but still needs a bit of TLC! Location is everything though, and when the sea is calm there is nothing nicer than a dip in the beautiful blue sea - beware though, if swimming out to the buoys - avoid the ropes as the sea lice that live on them will give you some nasty stings as I found out!! Just ask for some 'lime'!!

Room Tip: We had top floor with great view of the sea!

What better place for a stay in Barbados...
First time in Barbados and discovery of the island for me, absolutely lovely place.
Treasure Beach was a great place to stay, our room had a beautiful view on the beach (like all other rooms in the hotel).
The hotel is right by a beautiful beach, white sand and turquoise water. Just felt so good when I first arrived in the hotel and then walking out on this heaven beach. Topping it up with a rum punch at sunset on the grass overlooking the beach did not waste anything.
Other than a few hours of rain we had a great weather throughout the first week of JAn.
The hotel itself is very cosy, the boutique size of it makes it very pleasant and feel at home.
Staff is very nice and helpful and the manager Jason is doing a superb job.
The restaurant food is fine and tasty.
A must !
Nicolas G

Room Tip: Ask for the plunge pool rooms right over the beach

Barbados is a chic holiday destination and everything is about 20% more expensive than any other place I go.If you remember that you will have a good time.
Turning to the hotel.I will start with the excellent.Jason is a very hands on manager and tries to ensure that everything runs well.He has some excellent staff.Helen is a great new recruit, along with Leroy on reception this is brilliant.John and Tony at breakfast are utterly superb.
The housekeeping is first rate and the suite is kept spotless,as I mentioned to Jason at turn down it would be good if the bins were emptied. The suites are a good size with a bedroom,a sort of kitchenette, with a lounge and a terrace.Everything is very close, the sea is about 20 metres from the suite, ideal for a morning swim. The gym is small but reasonably equipped.
The spa is an excellent addition but I do think it needs a second therapist.Carolyn is fantastic but she has no stand-in for her days off.
Breakfast is good fresh fruit, cereal and juices with eggs cooked to order-I would say typical of this type of boutique hotel.
We ate in the restaurant on the night of my arrival-the starter was alright, the main course was utterly delicious fresh fish perfectly cooked with a lovely creamy sauce and fluffy creamed potatoes.I was too tired for pudding. The Island has wonderful restaurants(see my other reviews).
The reason I have given value 3 is it is the most expensive hotel I stay in anyway in the world-and for the price I expect 5 star perfection(This is not Jason's fault but as I said at the start Barbados is over-priced as an island).
The hotel has a beautiful garden, but to get shade you have at present to be on the beach,as there are no sun umbrellas in the grounds. The major draw back of this is that the suite does get very sandy,as even with use of the shower just off the beach-sand does get everywhere!
Overall we had a tremendous holiday-as Vasco da Gama may have said "this is a small treasure that given a little nurturing could develop it to a brilliant one!"
The hotel is definitely worth visiting and you will come away chilled.

A wonderful place to stay to unwind for a relaxing holiday. A small hotel set in a U shape around a garden and backing onto a beautiful beach. The suite (all rooms are suites) was spacious with a large bathroom and bedroom and a living area adjoining a balcony that looked over the garden and the sea. The staff are friendly and unfailing helpful, the food excellent and the rum punches set up the evening perfectly. All you could ask for in a hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms on the north side have the sun all day

We chose Treasure Beach for our first trip to Barbados on a recommendation and were really impressed. If you're looking for big, brash and flash it's not the place for you but if you want to really unwind and feel spoilt then book an Ocean or Pool View room. The suite was spacious and clean, staff were attentive. Hope we'll be back soon.

Room Tip: Garden rooms back on to the road so pay the extra for pool or ocean if you can.
