Nice Relaxing hotel awesome beach , excelent service will defintly be going back some time soon.the shuttle to beach is great and also to ferry to get you in town ,lobby area nice with band playing when you come back from dinner , had some good drinks before you go in for night.

Was nervous about booking during "Hurricane Season" while Florence was heading east, but after a very rainy NJ summer we took our chances and we enjoyed 3 days of sunshine and one day of on and off again clouds and showers in mid September. All restaurants and facilities were open. We were originally assigned a room on the 2nd floor overlooking the rooftops but opted to upgrade to a room overlooking the ocean on the 5th floor once we got there. Loved it. Bed was comfy and loved the shower head, no issues with water pressure. I understand they are in the process of redoing rooms. While I think our original room was redecorated I found that decor to be sterile and cold. We much preferred the cheerful tropical yellow decor and appreciated the extra seating and sofa in the room. We liked the location of the resort and we loved playing the golf course (Turtle Hill) and the beach is spectacular. The resort was at 50% occupancy while we were there and had no problem finding beach chairs or umbrellas at the beach. I think it might be a different story during high season. Hotel is a 4* not 5*. No turndown service or chocolates left on the pillows at night ;) As many have said the hotel can use some updating and some public spaces and furniture look dated..my guess the 80's lol. Not a dealbreaker but surprising. Will definitely return. Our fave casual restaurant was Coconuts at the Reefs built into the rocky coast overlooking the water.

We booked a trip for December and later learned half the resort's amenities were CLOSED. They refused to let us cancel without a huge fee. They refused to let us use it as a credit for later. I have never had such a horrendous experience.

A bit lengthy, but worth the read as I've detailed this hotel pretty thoroughly...

LOCATION: The Fairmont is located on the southern part of Bermuda, in a great location off South Road. The hotel is not directly on the water, but has great views of the bay and the ocean (depending on which side of the hotel your room is on).

CHECK-IN: Check-in for us was super-easy and quick. Our room was ready early, so we were whisked up immediately, There was no line - we checked in around 12pm.

TIP: Odd # hotel rooms look out on the bay, even # hotel rooms look out on the ocean. Try to get an even # room if you can, and the higher the better.

ROOM: We booked a king-bedroom, ocean view room and stayed on the 4th floor. We had amazing views of the ocean, a very comfortable bed, a walk-in closet, large bathroom with tub/shower combo and double-sinks, and powerful A/C. Next time we stay, we won't bother spending the extra money for the ocean-view room. We'll just try for an even # room, and if we don't get it, we don't get it. We weren't in the room that much anyway.

RESTAURANTS: There are multiple restaurants on property, including one that has a fantastic continental breakfast, and for a little more you can upgrade the breakfast to include all the hot plates they offer. The breakfast is a little pricey, but totally worth it.

TIP: Go to breakfast as late as possible - it runs until 11am. It's a buffet, so you can fill up as much as possible, then save $ by skipping lunch.

For those who don't want to skip lunch, there's a great pool-side restaurant with decent prices and great burgers/salads. You can eat indoors or outdoors.

TIP: Kids 5 and under EAT FREE! And this includes ordering them an appetizer, entree, and dessert. YES, FREE! But this only works at the restaurants. If you order at the pool or the beach, it doesn't count. So if you have kids, and you're at the pool, go to the pool-side restaurant to eat so they're free.

The Jasmine Lounge on the lobby floor is where we ate most of our dinners. It's more like a lounge than an actual restaurant set-up (couches, oversized chairs, a bar, etc.), but the food is incredible there!

There is a small little take-out store on the lower lobby level, and the gift shop on the lower lobby also sells snacks and soda at reasonable prices.

SHOPS: Along with the lower-level gift shop, there are some nice higher-end shops on the mezzanine level.

POOLS - There is one large outdoor pool at the hotel, with adjacent kiddie pools (a very shallow pool for kids, with an attached deeper kiddie pool that includes a slide. There is also an outdoor jacuzzi there. Plenty of chairs for everyone.

TIP: The spa pool, which is indoors, but includes 2 outdoor jacuzzis, is open for everyone from 6:30pm-9:30pm. It's on the mezzanine level, and is a great place to swim, especially if it's a little colder outside.

KID-FRIENDLY: Besides the kiddie pools, on the lower level of the hotel is a toddler playroom with different playsets, toys, and a TV with kiddie shows, and a separate room dedicated to different kid-friendly activities, which are different each night and posted at the hotel.

BEACH: To get down to the beach, you need to take a shuttle out front of the hotel. These shuttles are constantly running and you won't wait long to get on one. The ride to the beach is about 3-5 minutes, and a small walk past the tennis courts. The beach is private with plenty of chairs and umbrellas. There is a beachside bar and grill and a small resort shop.

TENNIS/GOLF: As mentioned, the shuttle stop for the beach is also where the tennis courts are. The stop before the beach stop is for the golf course, an amazing Par-3 that is worth playing if you're a golfer.

SPA: The hotel has a great spa (note the aforementioned spa pool, which is solely for spa residents until 6:30pm) on the mezzanine level.

Overall, we loved staying at this hotel. The prices were reasonable, the location is great, everything is within reach. There is a grocery store on Middle Road which you can take a cab to (or the bus if you're willing) if you want to save some money. We will DEFINITELY be back to this place and it may be our go-to hotel from now on.

Room Tip: Try to get an even-numbered room - they face the ocean. Odd #s face the bay.

Wow, what can I say. This holiday was perfect in every way. Luxury location with service and product to match. The hotel has endless amenities and has food offerings which cater for all. Ideal for family, golfing and couples. Will most definitely return.
