Myself and my partner have just arrived home having spent 2 weeks in Aruba, fantastic Island and hotel, no better people could you wish to meet but I picked this destination as in Thomson brochures and many more websites it states that this island is well away from hurricanes and tropical storms, WELL NO, after being there a day, the strong winds, heavy rain and 12 hours of thunder and lightening arrived over 3 days, a letter under our room door warning us that hurricane Matthew was here, it was my 50th birthday so wanted something special and certainly wasn't expecting this, I cant say it spoilt my holiday but was so disappointing so would advise anyone who is thinking of going to this wonderful island to check the weather first. I will also say anyone complaining about the food in this hotel is completely deluded, so much to choose from, no complaints what so ever, spotlessly clean as well.

Room tip: We were on 7th floor, bit of noise but not bad.

Overall had a great time and our stay was exactly like I expected it to be after reading many reviews on here.

Pros: Food and customer service were top notch. Super friendly staff, bar tenders etc. Pool and beach were both very nice. Drinks were great and strong, they had many named brand liquors as well as champagne and wine. Only one type of beer at the resort.

Cons: Rooms are either outdated or they did a rushed job trying to remodel the place. I expected this before going from reading reviews on here so we weren't surprised or disappointed. Rooms were very clean, bed comfy and AC worked great. If you want a more updated and fancier room stay next door at the Riu Palace it's fantastic if you don't mind more crowds and kids.

Tips: If you want to eat dinner at 630 get down there by 615. If you don't get in right at 630 you'll need to get a reservation for a little after 8. Only the steakhouse and fancy restaurant Crystal seems to fill up and run out of reservation space by 645 or so.

It's windy so you may want to bring a towel clip.

If you're a big drinker bring your own big cup for them to fill. The cups they give you there a small.

We chose Aruba for our honeymoon as it was hurricane season, and we love Aruba. This was the first time we tried an all-inclusive resort and it was definitely worth it. The 4 specialty dinner options were excellent and buffets was good as well. Make sure you bring a mug if you go, we forgot them. The bar will fill drinks in them instead of plastic cups.

Rooms are nice, but need some updating. The views are amazing from all rooms.

Room tip: Away ice machines, all rooms have ocean view!

Beautiful clean Island. Very safe to take bus to downtown with everyone. We tour downtown, so much to see. We rented a Harley, very very nice ride on the island. Lunch in town and met wonderful people. Hotel is 1 minute walk to shops, restaurants, night life. Hotel was extremely clean. Food was fabulous.

Room tip: Ocean corner room at the best for the view and sun.

I visited Aruba on 9/23/16 with my mother, friend and her mother. We were all completely disappointed with this resort. The hotel itself is outdated with the musty smell of mold throughout all floors/rooms. The rooms were disgustingly outdated with markings all over the walls and bath tub. From the first day we noticed the A/C would not go any lower than 70. Every day the hotel sent workers to fix the problem and every day it went unfixed, with us sleeping without any sheet or blanket because it was that warm in the room. The food was also disappointing aside from the breakfast buffet and steakhouse. In order for you to get to be able to eat at the steakhouse you have to be lined up by 6:00pm, then the restaurant opens at 6:30pm and they take as many people as they can and when its full for both the 6:30 & 8:30 seatings, you are out of luck. All of the other restaurants in the resort are not good, and the dinner buffet was so so. Now just so you know I travel to different islands every year and have stayed in many all inclusive resorts that I have loved and it takes a lot for me to complain. So that being said, please do yourself a favor and stay at a different resort on this beautiful island.
