Aruba Experience Cafe Patisserie
Ranked #3 of 13 Coffee & Tea in Oranjestad
Certificate of Excellence
Price range: US$4 - US$12
Description: Aruba Experience Cafe Patisserie is established in a traditional old-fashioned Aruban construction style cunucu house, dating back to the mid 19th century. This traditional Aruban architecture is known as a cunucu house which means country-house / farmhouse. In the earlier days, cunucu houses were built using interlocking coral rocks to a perfect fit that didn’t require any mortar. Amongst others, materials used for building was caliche, a durable calcium-carbonate substance found in the island’s southeastern hills. Cunucu houses were simple structures with very thick walls and high saddle slanted roofs built in the east-west direction of the wind for cross- ventilation, so that without air-conditioning the house was still cool. The inspiration to create this Beautiful cafe was due to technology. (Aruba Experience was a magazine for 30 years) The world of Internet and devices made this magazine expensive 2 print and easier for advertisers to find digital platforms 2 advertise.

This historic cafe has cute ambience & charm, along with the BEST breakfast by far! The eggs were cooked to perfection, portion size on point, and drinks were delicious. I can't say enough good things about this place, it's a MUST stop for any traveler!

We were impressed by all aspects of this quaint cafe. The staff was extremely welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. The cafe is artfully decorated and is full of interesting facts about Aruba that we enjoyed reading about while sipping our coffee and consuming our delicious arepas. The food was just fantastic ! Do not leave Aruba without trying this cafe for an entirely enjoyable breakfast experience

The food was so good - Salad and panini - then cashew cake with espresso. You should see the espresso machine and the fabulous guy that makes it work. Everyone was so super kind and sweet - great for families and good food!

We specifically planned to visit this cafe on our trip to Aruba! My sister and I love this cafe so much! The atmosphere is warm and inviting. You can feel like a local but still get the best service their is to offer in such an authentic and beautiful cafe. When we come back this will definitely be a long pit stop! Visited 2018 July!
