Excellent service in a well established community. Good food and good music! Don't miss the ocean breeze while visiting. Wedding was on Renaissance Island and everyone went above and beyond our expectations. THANK YOU

My husband and I stayed at Ren Aruba for a long weekend and wished we would have stayed longer! Below is my review of the property.

Check-in: After exiting the airport, we got to the resort in under 10 minutes! Check in was just as quick and efficient. The staff were very friendly and even helped us get an upgrade. The whole process took less than 10 minutes and we were up to our room.

Room: The room was modern, clean, and comfy. The beds were so soft! I want to get one for my house. There was a fridge and safe for convenience.

Beach & Pool: The private island was truly paradise. The shuttle boat leaves right from the lobby in the Marina side. Once you arrive on the island, you will feel instant relaxation! There were plenty of chairs in the shade and a few hammocks. The entry is a little rocky, so I would suggest some water shoes. There is a restaurant, bar, and bathroom facility on the island. The pools at the resort are just as nice and a great way to cool off.

Service: The service at the resort was amazing. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, including at the on-site restaurants.

Restaurants: L.G. Smith's Steakhouse was probably our favorite meal of the trip. The ribeye was mouthwatering. Aquarius and Papagayo were also great choices. There is also a Starbucks right in the lobby of the Marina side.

Overall, it was a great stay, and I would definitely recommend Ren Aruba.

This hotel was a wonderful choice for accommodation for myself and 4 friends. I had my bachelorette weekend in Aruba and this was the perfect spot. The pool and swim up bar were our favorite. It wasn’t crowded and it was quiet at night, which was great. The staff was great and food was good too! Thanks for a great stay :)

The hotel itself is very nice, could probably do with a bit of a face lift, but a nice hotel overall. Beds v. comfortable.
The private island was wonderful.
Staff here are what let the hotel down - hence the average rating. They caused a lot of unnecessary stress. Bar staff at the Adults only hotel were good, staff at casino were great, bar / alfresco dining staff at the family hotel were awful, and as for the navigator staff...WELL!
We asked for a drinks menu, barman went to get it, ten minutes later (and he'd been chatting to everyone else and serving drinks to other people) he finally comes back to ask what we want. Asked again for a menu. Got menu, bought and paid for drinks. Went over to the Beach BBQ, got ignored for a while, even though it was just us there (the staff were busy chatting amongst themselves). After the BBQ, we got the bill, and she told us she had graciously not charged us for the drinks. We told her we had already paid for them before coming over for the BBQ. She went off to "check" and they were adamant we had not paid. Wouldnt mind but there were only about 6 guests about, not sure how they forgot. Either way, was not nice to be told we werent being truthful.

The other issue - day before leaving, we asked what time the transfer was - our paperwork didnt state a time. The "navigator" checked, and said, 12.15. On the day, we were there at 12. By 12.45 nobody had come so I went and asked the navigator again, who checked and said its 1.15, downstairs... So wasted our last hour...
1.45 - no transfer coach. Back up to check, and she says, oh no, it doesnt come here, you need to get it across the street...Nice of them to tell us wrong on two occasions, and we then had to pay for a cab in order to make our flight.

Other than the staff being rude, the beach BBQ was very nice! And the food is very good at the hotel.

Room Tip: Not sure, they mostly face inwards

I stayed there this past February (2018) with my girlfriend; Carnival & Valentine's Day were both part of our stay. We had an issue during check-in with the room location as well as not being allowed to go to the room until almost 5:30pm. I happen to be a Marriott Platinum member and this was a first for me. We also had to move our room the second day due to the garbage truck making loud noises at 5:30 am each morning. Here's the great news: Esmeralda Hendriks from Marriott stepped-up and made everything right for us. She apologized for the inconveniences and made our stay very comfortable. She was a pleasure to deal with and always had a smile on her face.

As for the hotel - I was shocked. The pool, albeit small, was nice and we always had a lounge chair available. The hotel bar staff was fun and the Happy Hour deals were fantastic...especially the JW Blue!!! The private beach is definitely worth seeing and enjoying (it's beautiful) and lounging out by the "family" resort across the street on the beach was great!

As for the location - we liked it. Walking distance to excellent restaurants and a friendly cab ride away from the high-rise hotel area. We would definitely stay there again.
