6th trip to Hawksbill, and excellent as usual with perfect weather! Honeymoon cove rooms good as usual, but maybe could be on the list for a slight refurb ?
The new garden maintenance team seem to be doing a great job and the grounds were very well tended.
Great attention from staff as usual, especially Cristobel, Millie and David.
Looking forward to 2018 already. Some beers in the mini fridge would be nice, especially in the rooms far from the bar!!
Excellent trip and only 2 mozzie bites in 12 days!!

Room Tip: I always have a room on honeymoon cove- the view is fantastic

And we loved it; but you must be prepared for a three star place; do not expect glitz or glamour, and it is a little rundown in places. However, Hawksbill is a wonderful location and having a bungalow just yards from the beach means straight in the warm sea before breakfast. For that, I can forgive a lot in late November! And this spot faces almost due West so we got some wonderful sunsets. Lovely relaxing days.

The food is very acceptable; as good as any all inclusive I have tried. The wine was very palatable; thankfully not some dreadful draught machine but served at table from bottles with labels that you would recognise at six or seven pounds in Tesco.

The staff are excellent; John, the General Manager, leads a great team from the front as all good leaders should do and his positive attitude rubs off on them. You expect happy people in the Caribbean and you sure do get them here.

The seafront bungalows now have efficient aircon which was a relief. The grass was cut very well every week and the landscape looked very tidy. Fogging for the insects was done weekly. But I sure do wish the tree frogs could be a little quieter at night! All in all, terrific value for money and a great relaxing holiday. We will be back!

Room Tip: Superior sea front bungalows are the place to be for me.

Its pleasing to know that your stay was most enjoyable due to our comfy bungalow type accommodations only a few yards from the sea shore. Private patios whereby the great sunsets can be viewed; our tasty cuisine and our jovial service team. (greatest asset). An authentic Caribbean treat whereby the tranquil atmosphere allows one to easily relax and rejuvenate.

Our third visit to Hawksbill did not disappoint. We upgraded to a room on Royal Palm Beach. The room was updated with a very comfortable king-sized bed and a spacious bathroom.

The effects of hurricane Irma were evident in that a great deal of sand had shifted to the once grassy area in front of the cottages. This meant we were very bothered by sand flies and mosquitoes -- despite the constant use of bug spray. Still, a small price to pay for direct access to a lovely beach. Snorkelling was amazing there.

Food was very enjoyable with many options at supper time, as well as specific-cuisine themed nights. At lunch we usually chose the catch-of-the-day, lightly grilled and perfectly seasoned. Burgers, fries, chicken and an assorted salad bar was available as well. For breakfast -- cereal, toast, yogurt, french toast or pancakes, eggs to order, bacon, sausage...many choices.

In response to some of the poor reviews:
Our room had a digital locking safe, as had all rooms that we've stayed in. If there was a problem with any of the safes, they were dealt with immediately.
The pool is the same depth -- about 3-4 feet. It is rarely used as the beaches are the attraction at Hawksbill, but the water was very clear in the week we were there.

Yes there are no TVs in the rooms as one will note when reading reviews. However, they are being installed in the Sea View rooms.
During our visit, WIFI was only available in the Lobby area; but we have been told that it will be extended to all rooms.

In our three visits to Hawksbill, any issues we've ever had were dealt with that day...and usually within a couple of hours.

we visited the hawksbill end of august for our honeymoon.
we arrived 31/8/2017.
first impressions were a little disappointed.
the hotel reception is a little tired and dated to say the least.
we were given our key and when we saw the room and the view this far and away met our expectations ,
we were given an upgrade to a sea view bungalow . the room and the view wow could not of been any better.
the rooms had recently been renovated to a high standard.
we dumped our bags and explored the hotel grounds . making a stop at the bar first .
the resort is a little run down in places however the views and the intimate atmosphere is what we wanted and this is what we got .
the staff are friendly . helpful.
food .
the breakfast is good although the same everyday.
lunch is served at the beach grill again same everyday but well cooked .
evening meal is served in the top restaurant as is breakfast.
Entertainment is a little poor .
As we arrived on the 31/8/17 we were aware of the forthcoming hurricane IRMA was on the way to the island .
the hotel manager whose name escapes me . sorry . called a meeting and we were all evacuated to the sister hotel on the monday morning .imformation was good and the staff again were very helpfull .
having survived IRMA in the sister hotel we could not return to the hawksbill as the damage was extensive .

THE HAWKSBILL HOTEL IS A FANTASTIC PLACE .
heaven on earth . please see past the decor the food . sit back and soak up the view . the soft sand , the warm seas .
this small hotel has such a friendly vibe . we managed too make friends with everybody at the hotel .

we will return in the future /hopefully we will get to stay for the whole holiday .
this review is written having only been there for three nights of our ten day trip due to the hurricane . we would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday . .

Room Tip: best views are the sea view bungalows . recently renovated .

The majority of our guests, especially our numerous repeaters would totally agree with your term of 'paradise' for Hawksbill's tranquil atmosphere and unique location is just that. Simple but comfortable bungalow type accommodations enhanced by four 'vendor harassment free' beaches.
The genuinely friendliness or our service team is another major attraction at Hawksbill and we are pleased that you have noticed their efforts.
Antigua was very fortunate to have been spared from category 5 hurricane Irma, however the storm like conditions did have an effect on our operations and hence the relocation to our sister property.
We certainly look forward to welcoming you again in the near future and hopefully there will be no storms then. (keep fingers crossed)

Here we are again, a few years later! Some changes, some things still the same. We had a nicer room, many seem to have been fixed up. Perfect location, just what I wanted. Still somewhat boring food but lots of choice. The pool was more inviting - small and shallow but clean and nice. Still no decent wifi except in the main reception area. Still no repeaters! The staff were generally more helpful and friendlier. Maybe I am getting old so I am less demanding!! All in all, it is such a wonderful location on a perfect beach and a very reasonable price that we will probably go back. Most of the guests had been there many times over the years.

Room Tip: Some cottages are more luxurious. Pay more and get them if that's what you want.

In the very near future, the WIFI service will be available in all rooms and not just in the main lobby and dining area.
