“Very, Very Relaxing”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 April 2012

On the way back to Canada from New Zealand, we spent 5 days at the Palm Grove, where we.had a beach front cottage. View from the cottage was fantastic & the island pace was very, very, relaxing. This is a small resort where the staff are very friendly. Facility was very good & on-site restaurant quite fine for breakfast & dinner. No reason not to return & would certainly recommend to others

Room Tip: Get a beach-front cottage. If you have an evening flight from the islane, make sure you obtain a la...

We have just returned from our first holiday at Rarotonga and I promise you, we'll be back in a couple of years for more. What a wonderful place. Great people, great dining and great accommodation at Palm Grove. The web site we studied showed it was what we wanted.... a place to stay in a peaceful environment and we got it. Our garden bungalow may not have had the frills of the more commercial resorts on the island, but we were very comfortable. Clean with a beautiful tropical garden setting and a short walk across to one of the best beaches on the island. The hosts and staff were friendly and helpful. The tropical breakfast could not have been better. Beautiful fresh fruit with the sweetest paw paw ever tasted, cereals, bread and pastries. If my wife and I could find anything to be slightly unhappy about, it would be that the staff were a bit slow in re-setting tables for the next diners and at times, cups or other utensils were needed to be asked for as they had run out at the buffet. The evening meals we had at the restaurant were excellent. During our time at Rarotonga, we looked at other prospective accommodation for a return visit, but to be honest, Palm Grove would be hard to beat. What is exciting is that a program of renovations for Palm Grove is on the cusp of commencement. By what was explained to us, our next stay there will be even more impressive. John Blades

Once again we spent our holiday time at Palm Grove and so often on the second visit things are not as great as the first time around. Not so at Palm Grove, our greeting from staff was as if we were family returning. The grounds were impecably kept and the Yellow Hibiscus was still putting ourt great meals. Friday night "Happy Hour " was great and the live entertainment very enjoyable.
This year we were late making reservation and the resort was fully booked so we stayed in a 2 bedroom house- privately owned- but rented out by Palm Grove. It was a piece away from the main resort, but the early morning walk (approx. 500 meters) was enjoyable and healthy. Even for my 83 year old husband, and the other 3 of us all over 70 +.
The house was very clean, reasonably well equipped and the 4 of us were very comfortable. We had use of all the perks of the resort but the best part was the hospitality of all the staff. |Our thanks to you all.
We will go back and recommend Palm Grove to anyone that wants a comfortable, restful carefree holiday.

Room Tip: Our 1st choice is the garden, but most like the beach area. Both are great

Palm Grove is a slice of paradise!

When planning our wedding venue and location we we looked for a reasonably priced resort with a local feeling and relaxed atmosphere but with the high quality of customer service and cleanliness of a more expensive resort!

Boy did we find it at Palm Grove!

Apon arrival we built an instant friendship with Junior and Vaiine! We were met at the airport with warm Kia Orana's, beautiful Lei and an welcoming hug from the darling Vaiine!

I felt like I had just met family at the airport!

Our room was gorgeous, a beach front bungalow, air conditioned with fly screens to keep us cool and safe! With an amazing view of the ocean just 5 steps away!

Snorkelling was like swimming in a tropical aquarium just outside our room! We saw lots of Finding Nemo characters and many many more amazing fish in a ray of beautiful colours! Palm Grove supply you with snorkelling gear and scuba shoes which we used every day!

We ate 2 meals at The Yellow Hibiscus, first i had the Cajun Fish which was to die for! I have a fussy nephew who devoured his plate and was looking around for seconds!
The second was my wedding buffet which was beautiful! I could have eaten there every night if not for wanting to experience other places!

The staff at Palm Grove go out of their way to please their guests!
Toko saved the day with a Marriage Licence dilemma - Going out of her way to assist help us! We love her and cant thank her enough!
Betsy greeted us warmly every time and was full of helpful information.
Mata made the most beautiful food and facilitated a beautiful wedding reception for us taking into account my favourite colour is purple and adding really lovely personal touches.
Juniour was a man of few words but willing to help and assist whenever needed.
Vaiine is like a lovely aunty who brightened my day every time a saw her with her kind words and lovely hugs!
Joanne made our wedding run flawlessly! Nothing was a problem to Joanne!
And everyone else were just wonderful! We cant saw enough kind words about them!

Thank you so much to Palm Grove, we know that our guests as well as ourselves had the best possible time in Rarotonga thanks to your wonderful place and staff.

We will be back as soon as we can!!! xxx
Love from James and Carly Lammers

20 years ago we stayed at the Palm Grove on our first trip to the Cook Islands. It has been on our list of places to go again ever since. On our 2nd trip to the Cooks, we stayed at a different large resort and regretted it. We have just returned from 2 weeks at the Palm Grove and found that while the resort has expanded in the last 20 years, the basics have stayed the same and the people were even better than we remembered. From the front desk to the maid service, to the waitresses, to the management, they were all absolutely incredible! Everyone had a smile all the time and the smiles were genuine!! Nothing was a problem!!! The breakfasts were all you could ask for (and then some)! Both my wife and I are in our 70s and we have done a lot of traveling all over the globe, and the Palm Grove is without a doubt, the nicest place we have ever stayed in.

Room Tip: All the cottages are very private and the only consideration would be wether to stay in one on the b...
