We stayed in a cottage across the street from the main lodge since our dog was with us. The "cottage" was the size of a regular house, with very nice accommodations. The breakfast at the lodge was excellent. Kingston is a small town in the woods on the east side of the Black Range of mountains, and is a nice place to relax and enjoy Nature.

They also do massages.

Our friends invited us on a hiking trip over the Memorial day weekend. This little lodge B&B was the only place that had a vacancy. I was a little nervous when we first pulled up when I saw the chicken pen and rustic look. The place quickly grew on us. The hosts are wonderful and warm. Breakfast is delicious and the bread is fresh. We cannot wait to return and just unplug and enjoy nature.

We came from Iowa and I was interested in that area and History. I am glad we did as it was beautiful. Catherin and Gary? Were nice and made a very good breakfast for us. The Hillsboro café was awesome too. Check it out. It really was the best sleep I had in awhile.

There's not much going on in Kingston, NM, unless you are at the Black Range Lodge. There are chickens in the yard, a warm cozy fire in the stove in the entry room and good smells coming from the kitchen. Guests dine together and makes for great conversation since everyone has such interesting stories and come from all walks and all corners of the world. One night during our stay a bluegrass jam broke out in the living room however it's usually very quiet. The stars in Kingston are amazing and the fresh air like none other.

Room tip: rooms facing west see great sunsets.

Thanks for your kind comments about the Lodge! We love hosting music, and this summer are planning some campfire sing-alongs, and Saturday night concerts at our new outdoor Pavilion. We'll be posting the schedule on our Black Range Lodge Facebook page. Hope to see you there!

We visited Black Range Lodge three years ago and longed to return - this time we brought friends with us to enjoy the unusual beauty of the surrounding area. Catherine and Gary were so gracious and accomodating! We appreciated the opportunity to enjoy the outdoor areas as well as the living areas inside. The relaxed atmosphere added to our enjoyment. We will continue to return as time allows.
