My wife and I stayed in this accommodation for our wedding anniversary. It was the perfect antidote to the modern busy lifestyle that we lead at home.
We flew into Toulouse and rented a car. It took around an hour to reach Montricoux and find our destination.
The house is large and could easily accommodate 3-4 couples or 2 families with kids. There is a large back garden with table and chairs, sun loungers and an outdoor shower. There is also a bathroom adjacent to the lounging area so you don't have to go back into the house.
A full kitchen is provided with oven, large refrigerator, table and chairs and plenty of storage. A full range of crockery and cutlery is provided.
There are plenty of books and DVDs provided and a large TV. There is also good broadband / WiFi provided.
The location is a tranquil and picturesque medieval French village with a traditional market and quiet streets. The weather was lovely and warm compared to home. The lifestyle of the village seems to be very laid back and friendly.
There is a beautiful bakery less than 5 minutes from the house and they produce lovely breads and cakes. There are large hypermarkets within a 15 minute drive.
We ate some meals in the house and used restaurants in the village and surrounding area for others. There is a really nice pizzeria in the village which was an unexpected pleasure!
If you are looking for a nice, relaxed location to take a break from the busyness of normal life, this is the location for you. It was very easy to get to and offers a taste of the french village lifestyle.
David and Jacinta's home was very inviting. We enjoyed the large kitchen and nice view to the back yard. We also enjoyed being in walking distance to the small town and their weekly market. The bedrooms were very comfortable. Although it was quite warm during our stay, the medieval town was very nice. Lots to do nearby. We visited other medieval towns while we were there visiting our niece.
My wife and I stayed with our 4 children at the Gite de Montricoux, Grande Maison, Individuelle for the last 2 weeks of August.
The property was perfect for our family with 4 large bedrooms capable of sleeping 10 comfortably, a very large and spacious lounge diner, a kitchen breakfast room, 2 bathrooms and a separate toilet. The property is furnished well and tastefully decorated, and we found it to be clean and well kept. As well as having all of the equipment and appliances that you would expect, there is also an extensive dvd, book and board game collection that was enjoyed by all the family. The outside area is spacious with plenty of room for sunbathing or eating outside; our children really liked the trampoline, swings, slide and the large above ground pool.
The property is based right in the heart of Montricoux, less than a minutes walk from the local shops. Montricoux itself is a beautiful unspoilt medieval village, with so many other beautiful villages and places to visit within an hours drive. The owners of the property were ever so helpful, providing us with a considerable amount of information on things to do in the local area prior to our stay.
I would highly recommend this property.
