Description: Dominique and Philippe, the owners of the restaurant "The Yellow Lizard Cafe", warmly welcome you to their friendly hotel design is modern and local. The originality of concept consists both in cooking a la plancha, but also in the original presentation skewers which are suspended on a suitable bracket. "The lineup in all its forms" Cooking a la plancha allows to highlight the flavors of local products such as shrimp Opunohu, bluefin tuna, swordfish and mahi-mahi. It offers a perfect cooking with lamb chops, beef and chicken piece, but also vegetables that retain their crispness. Note that each skewer made at least 250 g. For dessert, besides the homemade ice cream with fresh fruit Moorea and chocolate cake, pineapple and banana are also to be plugged caramelized or flambeed in rum.

The wife and I are on honeymoon from NY and have what I’d consider fairly high standards when it comes to food. Doesn’t always need to be fancy, just good and priced accordingly. Well, we heard good things about Le Lezard Jaune so we figured we’d try it on our last night in Mo’orea. Totally blew us away! Philippe picked us up at our hotel and was very French, and very outgoing and friendly. The owner provided suggestions which all worked out. First of all, do yourself a favor and order the poisson cru as an appetizer (huge portion, so split it with your dining companion(s). Best thing we ate on the entire island!! No joke. Then we had shrimp and a fish special, shrimp served on skewers hanging on the table, it was a pretty cool unique way to see it served. Dessert was a coconut cake but really it was almost like a macaroon. Such a great way to end the meal. We could not say enough nice things about how much we enjoyed our dinner. Service was great, food was great. Highly recommended!!!

The food is excellent. Not the best I've ever had nor the best in Moorea, but nonetheless an exceptional meal. But, for how good the food is, expect the same in POOR customer service. Order a drink? 25 min. Order an appetizer? Another 35min. Oh you want to pay your bill? Nope, you will be told when you are allowed to pay because with ~20 patrons, they cant possibly handle the overload of giving someone their bill. And I hope you're not used to normal service of a server asking you how you're doing or having small talk, because they do not believe in that here. For the price, you most certainty are not paying for service. Couldn't be more upset with the service. The food was overshadowed by absolutely horrible customer service. Upset I gave them by business.

It all started well. warm welcome, good service. Very good description of the menu and we couldn't wait to taste all these dishes so well described!
Then, came the food.
First appetizers, ok raw fish then tartare so so.
Ordering magret and beef was not a good idea this evening. Steaks arrived cold and both meat were too difficult to chew.
Fries were good.
The "Foie gras sauce", the worse I ever ate. Not really a foie gras.
I read all reviews and I was looking forward to an exquise gourmet experience.
Too bad for a farewell dinner with friends and family.

We all thought everything was delicious; from the prawns to the mahi mahi and from the duck to the desserts. The sauces were a delight. This was the best restaurant we went to on Moorea.
