We were spending a few days in Devon visiting friends who took us to this restaurant for lunch on 12th September.

Just arriving there was impressive. The Hotel part look lovely and the view was magnificent. We were greeted by a member of staff as soon as we entered and shown to our table overlooking the Valley. It is a lovely restaurant and the tables looked beautiful, with sparkling glasses and good table ware.

We chose from the set menu which had a good choice of starters and main courses. We were then given Canapes followed my an Amuse Bouche of delicious soup. The starters and main courses were excellent as were the coffee and Petit Fours. We chose the "House" wine which was also very good.

We thought the Set Menu value was amazing for such quality, well presented and perfectly cooked food. The staff were a delight. Efficient and both had a good sense of humour.

We look forward to maybe staying there at some point , but definitely will go there to eat again. We couldn`t fault anything.

Having visited The Horn of Plenty some years ago, we had promised ourselves that we would revisit soon. Time goes bye and we never made it! We decided that we would revisit the Horn of Plenty for lunch, to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were not to be disappointed as the Restaurant has maintained its atmosphere and the staff were as welcoming as before.
We were met by a young lady who guided us towards the Lounge, where we could sit and enjoy a drink accompanied by canapés. Our order was taken and shortly after this lead to the dining room to a table in the window with magnificent views over the Tamar Valley and down towards Kit Hill. As we had ordered from the two course set menu, we were surprised to be served with a lovely 5 spice cauliflower soup (compliments of the Chef) - excellent, this was followed by the starter and then the main course. These were served when we were ready and whilst the Waitress was attentive, there was no pressure to “move us along”. We followed this by taking coffee on to the Patio, where we took our time to enjoy the Sun, the view and the petit fours which accompanied the coffee.
Although not over busy today, the Hotel maintained its atmosphere and character. The Staff were welcoming, attentive and friendly and the food excellent.
Another plus was the fact that the Chef was able to provide a menu which was gluten free or could be adapted to be. They were able to provide excellent Gluten free rolls and I am sure Gluten Bread if required. It appeared the set menu today did not contain a Gluten free dessert option, but we were assured that the could produce a dessert, if we required one.
Thank you All for an excellent Anniversary Lunch. We will be back to see you soon.

I could virtually right the same review as the Castle Bow in Taunton.

This had a Michelin and the first for a woman in the UK. Time has moved on but the food is still delicious. For me the classical dishes worked best. The fish was cooked to perfection.

Great views when still light.

I have been here before and will go again.
