Wooden Cabbage far exceeded our high expectations ! Right from the start we were made very welcome and the attention to detail throughout was faultless. A lovely " home from home " feel about the whole place with delicious home grown produce served in abundance throughout our stay. Really helpful and appreciated advice regarding dining out ( strongly recommend the Anchor ) and wonderful local places to visit of which there are many. In short, this place cannot be recommended high enough and we look forward to returning soon ! Ant and Jules

Very pleasant, hosts extremely helpful. Not the easiest place to find, especially at night but if you're wanting a quiet, out of the way sort of place you may enjoy the tranquility. I would definitely book the outside barn which is fabulous. Most rooms in B&Bs in England are small and soundproofing non existent and our bathroom was very tiny although beds in the twin room extremely comfortable. Dragging suitcases up flights of stairs isn't fun and don't think our host thought it was either but seems the norm in these sorts of places. Breakfast was very good quality but after the incredible buffet breakfasts in European hotels I found it rather limiting... the typical English breakfast ...bad coffee, great tea, plenty of eggs and bacon. It's the same everywhere. The great English Breakfast is a huge disappointment in my humble opinion but I'm a fusspot!! It was the best marmalade jam Ive ever tasted but do wish England could make some decent bread!! The breakfast room was very pretty with an amazing table but if you have a sinus allergy don't go here, the Cestrum is overpowering and I suffered for days afterwards! The property has lovely rural views and is great value.

We absolutely adored our short break in this beautiful house. Our hosts Martyn and Susie were excellent! Great recommendations for places to visit, booked us in at marvellous restaurants/inns and made us feel so at home. The room was gorgeous, extremely comfortable and we felt incredibly spoilt! It was a five star breakfast in a stunning dining room overlooking their breathtaking gardens.
Thank you for looking after us - we will definitely return!

Martyn and Susie were the perfect hosts for our extended weekend break over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
No task or request was to little for them.
Both were very knowledgable on the local area and things to do.
The room were amazing. Clean, bright and plenty of room. Great breakfast with many homemade products.
Cant recommend this home from home and higher than trip advisor lets us.

Wooden Cabbage is in a lovely setting with fantastic views over the countryside. The house and our room had a very homely feel and had lots of personal touches. The breakfast was excellent and our hosts made us feel very welcome and helped us with local information.
