Driving from Livingstone Zambia via Botswana to RSA can be an ordeal. There are not really logical stop overs distance wise. I was delayed at the border and had some car trouble. Got to the lodge at 23:00 after some brutal driving. The guard was waiting for me. Opened the chalet they had organized. Everything was clean and the food was good. Botswana has some serious service issues with staff etc, these guys were ok. Food was hot and served efficiently. Hats off to the manageress for organizing my stay. Life saver, they went above and beyond. Great place to stop for Martins drift the next morning. You have to remember they are literally in the middle of nowhere, so running he lodge must be challenging, all in all they do a great job. Would recommend.

Horrible place, the food is shocking and very expensive, tried getting hold of the manager to share my views and was given a phone, she suggested that if we did not like the food we should go to a nearby garage for take away food. Extremely unpleasant staff, not wiling to assist with anything and were more worried about watching their television program. Will never stay here again and advise other to stay well clear.

If you want a stopover between South Africa North East Botswana, this is the ideal place, hospitality is first class, rooms very comfortable and their buffet dinners and breakfast are excellent. In addition they can offer border crossing assistance very helpful if you are from overseas.

A very comfortable overnight stay on the way to Zambia. A very good first stop if you travel from SA. It is very close to the border and especially if you have a late getaway from Gauteng, it is a convenient distance from the border without having to travel the treacherous Botswana roads at night.

Kwa Nokeng is a perfect stop over before crossing the border if you need a place. We were delayed at the border and decided to pull in as it was getting late. The receptionist was friendly and exceptionally kind and helpful. Our view was fantastic in the evening and the morning even with the noise from the trucks it doesn’t detract from the beauty.

Being a long day we decided to have dinner at the restaurant. Although I feel it is a tad expensive the food was great with good taste especially since I didn’t have to cook after a long day of driving.

We made breakfast in the morning and have to say as a self catering chalet it was lacking, the utensils were not adequate. The bathroom also needs some TLC but for the time you spend there and the price you pay it isn’t a train smash. The beds were comfortable and air con was great.

Will certainly come to stay again should we need a place to stay before/after crossing.
