We decided to go with San Blas Frontera to avoid the crowds of San Blas Adventures and be more “local” but we regretted our choice after talking to other travellers that went with San Blas Adventures.

Day 1 (very good)
- First day was great, the island we stayed at was nice and we had crayfish for lunch and diner, which was excellent. The beds were comfy with a mosquito nets on top of each.
- We found some cans and plastic in the water while snorkelling, which we picked up but this was really sad.

Day 2 (very bad)
- We left 1 hour late the second day as we were waiting for someone, then one of the engines broke down and it took 1 hour to try to fix it before the crew decided to continue with only one engine and because of that, we did not stop on the island we were supposed to visit during the morning.
- We arrived in a Kuna village (50 meters from the shore) and we ate fish, rice and beans (no flavour at all and we know this type of meal can be good as we have been travelling for a while in the Caribbean) surrounded by plastic floating on the sea.
- We stopped on a great island the afternoon (where San Blas Adventures spend one night) but ended up sleeping in a Kuna village again surrounded by plastic which is far from

Dear Max,

thank you for taking the time to review our trip. We are sorry that your time with us was not as expected.

We understand your disappointment about the delays on the first day and took actions to avoid this in the future to our best possibilities.

We also understand your discomfort with the trash. Unfortunately this is a great problem in San Blas as there is no recycling system in place and unfortunately only little awareness about its impact, at least among the older generations. We are as concerned about this problem as you correctly are and are talking to the owners of the places we visit to raise awareness and improve but progress unfortunately is slow.

For the food, please understand that tourism in this part of San Blas is very young and that traditionally Kuna meals are not flavored as strongly as Western food. We will nevertheless give back your feedback.

Kind regards
Luis

I had a very good time with San Blas Fronteras on our 3-day trip from Panama to Colombia. The organization was good and professional, and they answered my mails within few hours. It wasn't a problem at all to bring my bicycle and they didn't charged it extra! The first island was a typical carribbean dream, while the second one was a great experience to stay with the indigenous Kuna Yala tribe. Good food, really authentic! But bring some snacks with you, for the time in between.
The only negative thing was, that our stuff was drinking a lot on the third day.
But everything else was great! Thank you San Blas Frontera for showing me your country and bringing me to Columbia.

Hi, thank you for your great review! It makes us happy to hear that you had a great trip and enjoyed the time with us. We are working hard on offering an authentic experience and a professional service and it is always good to get positive feedback :)
But we apologize about the staff's behavior on the last day - we do have a strict "no drinking while working policy" and therefore this behavior is unacceptable. Thank you for informing us - we will make sure to initiate countermeasures.

Thank you and safe onward travels
Luis

Two of us went on a day trip this week, and had an incredible experience. I wish we could have stayed longer, but it is definitely worth it to go if you only have a day. It is a long journey but unlike anything else you have ever seen! I was hesitant about this company because of the limited reviews, but we had a very positive experience, and lucked out with a beautiful day. We were nervous about the weather because it was pouring in Panama City and even at the port before we got on the boat, but it cleared up before we got to the islands. Luis was quick to respond, and our driver picked us up on time and always was very informative about the area and the history (in Spanish). The fish for lunch was delicious, and then we went and explored a few other islands and found some sea stars! Later in the week we went to Bocas del Toro for a few days, which was also a great trip, but nothing compares to the beauty of San Blas/Guna Yala. Bring some extra cash for beer/cold drinks on the island, or if you are more prepared than us, you can also bring a cooler on the boat with you :) Enjoy!

An amazing experience I would do all over again! From pickup at my hotel in Panama City all the way to the Islands went smooth... other than a little car sickness :-(
The Islands are gorgeous, food was amazing and the staff spoke English and super friendly.
Very relaxing location to unwind and soak up the beauty of the San Blas Islands.
It's a Bucket List to do for anyone, who likes beaches and does not mind sandy huts. Highly recommend. Now back to the snow in Montana!
