“The right way to experience Rarotonga”

Having stayed at the big resort on the other side of the island where despite the high end luxury there was no rest, the Blackrock was a delight! It is peaceful and while there is no getting away from the Roosters of Rarotonga there were much less of them here and there weren't any stray dogs and most importantly there wasn't the noise of the fire show going on until nearly midnight.
The accomodations were nice. A good kitchen, comfortable beds, great lounging on the comfortable patio, nice clean pool. All as expected. What wasn't expected is the great views of the lagoon and the sunsets! A five minute walk takes you down to the beach and we were treated to some of the most amazing sunsets ever! Looking at our pics they look fake because they are that stunning!
The snorkeling in the lagoon is incredible. Time it for the high tide and look for the channels between the coral heads. We saw eels, butterfly fish, parrot fish, emperor angelfish, and a whole bunch we couldn't id. Just stunning!
There are several restaurants within a twenty minute walk; those I'd rate three to four stars only. We mostly cooked inside after taking the bus to the store (ten minutes away). The bus picks up right below the villa.
All in all this is the Rarotonga experience we wanted but couldn't find the previous trips. Look forward to staying again!

“Amazing holiday rental!”

My partner and I stayed at Blackrock to be close to a family wedding at Edgewater Resort (10 mins down the road). Everyone who stayed at Edgewater was so jealous of our villa. The villa itself had 2 huge bedrooms, 2 bathrooms a kitchen and lounge. There was also a usb stick with 1000 movies to choose from on the nights you just wanted to stay in. The villas were immaculate, beds really comfortable. But the best part of the villa - the pool! Beautiful and clean, really comfortable sun loungers, couldn't ask for anything better.

This would be a great property for a group (you could hire both villas) but was equally as good as a couple renting one villa. Stunning sun sets, nice and close to town. The restaurant serves fantastic food and cocktails and has live music on Sunday.

I would recommend this holiday rental to anyone, especially if you want to be separated from the hustle and bustle of the resorts at Muri.

Andy and Michelle were great hosts.
