We have just stayed for another week and it was just as good as the other seven times we've been. We love the LA and find it so relaxing. There is everything we want for a fabulous holiday within the hotel and surrounding area. The staff are the best ever encountered, genuine, helpful and friendly. Koray keeps the bar in order, Bahri keeps the pool bar running smoothly whilst doubling as a lifeguard (!) and Mehmet the best ever receptionist, definitely our 'Superman'. Thank you all for making our holiday great again. Can't wait to return.

This review is purely from a sight loss point of view and is written in the hope that it may help others with sight loss. I’m registered sight impaired in the UK. I used to work for a UK sight loss charity, helping people regain their independence.

The Good Bits

The weather : sunny days mean lots of natural sunshine throughout the hotel.

The staff : all the staff were really helpful and friendly. There is no feeling of a ‘corporate mentality’ you often find in larger hotels. Staff take personal responsibility.

The beach : there is a brilliant little underpass to the private beach, which means you don’t have to cross the busy road. You can choose to be on the beach, at the infinity pool or on a synthetic grass area. The cafe is good, again with friendly staff. There are small stones as you enter the water in some places. The area by the slipway was just sand, so easier to get in and out. There’s a few submerged rocks but nothing too bad.

The rooms : our room was large (we had upgraded) with good lighting. They don’t go in for ‘atmospheric’ lighting or energy saving bulbs that take half an hour to warm up! The bedside reading lights were hood. Wi-Fi is OK but trips out regularly. If you want to listen to podcasts, etc, I would download them at home first. Most of the time, the public areas were well lit, but occasionally the lights would be turned off (by the cleaners maybe?). I’m quite sensitive to sudden changes of light, so this is often a difficulty for me everywhere.

Transport : there is an excellent shared taxi (dolmus) to Kyrenia. Don’t worry too much about flagging one down - the drivers will find you. The hotel will call you a taxi for other journeys. There’s lots of restaurants within a short walk in Lapta.

The Not Quite So Good Bits

Uneven surfaces : most of the hotel has decent enough surfaces. There are some areas where there are curious ‘half steps’ where two types of surface meet. One example would be turning right into the outdoor area at the top of the steps leading into breakfast. You will find this sort of thing everywhere in Cyprus. The hotel could usefully remove these small hazards and also highlight top and bottom steps.

Cats : Cyprus has a lot of cats. You will find them everywhere (including the hotel). I know some people will love this, but I found them a bit disconcerting (especially in groups). To me, they were a hazard. I think I only kicked one accidentally, so perhaps not that bad.

Outside the hotel : the pavements are pretty dreadful in places – not a fault of the hotel I hasten to add. Potholes and big curbs. The main road is often busy. Most drivers are OK but over-taking seems to be a national sport. Even the dolmus drivers use their mobile phones when driving. So you have to watch your step a bit, especially at night. Best to use the underpass at the hotel to cross the road.

Many thanks to all the staff at the hotel for making our holiday such a memorable one.

The best place I have stayed in cyprus and am looking forward to returning as soon as i can.

The air con in the rooms is perfect and so are the washing and toilet facilities, when you are here you are treated like family.
