Our 4th stay and 5th visit to Sol Duc since 1995 was still phenomenal, despite the pouring rain. The Hot Springs pools were heavily used, even in the pouring rain—when certain bathers comically sheltered themselves in large umbrellas as they soaked. Our cabin was adequate and we were relieved to have open reserved parking spaces for it, considering how full and packed the front area was with the vehicles of bathers. Our meals were delicious with crab cakes, seafood soup, breakfast fare and the Olympic Lemonade cocktail. Be advised, we had no network connection yet we didn’t stay at Sol Duc to cruise the web.

The drive to the Sol Duc Falls trail head was majestic—lined with very tall, mature conifers. Hundreds of hikers and dozens of backpackers navigated up and down the 0.8 mile stretch of trail to the breathtaking falls as cold rain steadily fell. The falls boasted 4 outlets, no doubt gushing more profusely due to the rains. So picturesque and a the trail greenery a repetitive show stopper. The Falls parking lot was almost at capacity on this rainy day. As we exited the Sol Duc Falls & Hot Springs area, we hiked the Ancient Grove Trail which is also not to be missed. Exhilarating and Breathtaking—always!

We have visited here a number of times over the years (1990 to present). We have observed concessionaires come and go. The recent remodel totally ignored maintaining atmosphere - a wilderness experience deep up a rainforest valley. It feels like a Holiday Inn Lobby. Women's locker room less functional then previously: no shelves, no hooks, fewer benches, a wall of lockers that do not operate consistently and are dirty inside. LOUD: installed monitors with looping music & video - a unneeded 'not' improvement (1 at the main entry is enough); swim-suit spinner (could have put one spinner in the hall space between men & women's locker rooms), air hand dryers (laden w/bacteria). Took away the paper towel - actually healthier, less impact on the environment overall (Aramark used to recycle). I have observed many using TP for drying hands, opening and closing stall doors & hall bath doors. Aramark has to pay for trash disposal, so a cost cutter for them. I miss most the unheated swimming pool. It was always more of a hot spring experience when you could go from hot to a cold dip, the fun conversations challenging who next. Now it's a bath. Spring and Fall when it is coldest, I do not observe any increase in use of the swimming pool for swimming because it is heated. How about a compromise: unheat open to pre Memorial Day; heat for summer; unheat post Labor Day till close? Food: Not a good value for the (lack) of portion & inconsistent quality. We currently live local and only visit before and after the holiday's due to lack of cleanliness when busy (summer & weekends) & dogs. DOGS: Most of these are pets, not service animals. Not a excuse. Aramark - you need to enforce park rules & your own stated rules about PETS on the premises. ESA's are not service animals. They have become annoying and owners displaying a lack of respect for the general public and the park. Just because we use discretion, and do not bring our pets with us does not mean we do not love the animals.

The location is great if you're looking to go for a back to nature/destress type trip. I chose to rent a cabin (without kitchen) for a destress/ go for hikes&soak in the hot tubs weekend. The cabin itself was less than perfect. The mattress was uncomfortable; there were spiders and old dusty spiderwebs everywhere. The spiders didnt bother me, but the mattress did. The restaurant is 5/5 stars. Resturant staff is very friendly (without being pushy like restaurant staff can sometimes be) and the food was very tasty. The tubs were crowded in the evening, but very nice and relaxing early in the day.

We stayed in the River Lodge it has A couple of beds and a place for the baby. It’s a nice size kitchen which is police Dored with glassware or plates. Great deck on the back side over the river comes around the front of the house looking over the campground. It’s hard to find and negative about anything in the park. Such an incredibly beautiful place

This place was perfect to unplug and unwind. Beautiful peaceful quiet of the National Forest. Hiking trails a nice restaurant with plentiful food and a nice little store to pick up some wine or beer or cider and some snacks. The hot springs we're so relaxing after a day of travel and a day of hiking. Everyone was friendly and helpful.
